No idea what it is for but I know you need it. There is a pic in the link I posted. It attaches to the stay with the knock sensor and the other EGR shit. If that is connected, check hte tach imput.

its not connected. It is still on the bracket i removed. However, it doesnt lead to anything so i figured it was useless lol ( like the rest of the EGR shit). Do i just take it off the bracket and connect it to the lose wire and it doesnt lead to ne thing?

All I did was take it off the bracket and screw it into the firewall. It just has to be grounded to work. Anywhere should be fine. That should fix your problem.
