I'd say upgrading from a big 16g to an evo 16g was a waste of money unless the other one was bad.

don't spoil mans excitement.. how cruel are you..
LOL j/k..
should of just gone either with s20g if you want daily driven with boost..
or a 50 trim if you want higher boost less during regular driving.

I wuld have gone to a 20g or 50 trim if it was for upgrading purposes. You won't even notice a difference between the evo and big on the but-o-meter or much by numbers. Defenitly not enough to justify buying a new one IMO

Done it your self? And remeber you can't compare from one car to another, times/ speed varyfrom car to car with the same turbo. Just look at Peter's car for example. 16G and a high 14 at best if I remeber right.

Well sweet, I hope you enjoy it.
Everyone else should remember that not everyone wants 900hp and 7 sec quarter mile times. :stick:

The EVO III 16G is not going to produce much more power than a a regular Big 16G. However it is a definate upgrade, and is a lot better turbo. Here is why:
The EVO III 16G has a stiffer WG actuator spring, the turbine housing weighs 2lbs less, the turbine outlet is 2.5" vs. 2" on the regular Big 16G, the compressor wheel on the two turbos is quit similar, the EVO III is only .010" larger, the compressor wheel blades are 50% thinner than the Big 16G. So it doesn't take a genious to a add all that up and get a quicker spooling, more effecient turbo.
Yeah its not a huge upgrade but its definetly a step up from the Big 16G. If you don't want to make huge huge numbers and just want a quick street driven daily driver for CHEAP (turbo is only $550) than its a good choice.
The turbo will make 400 hp with supporting mods.

I got 320 to the wheels with a weak motor(173K old) with it and a conservative 22 psi. I can't wait to see what happens when I get the built motor, sheet metal, cams and 75 shot. Plus I don't have to spend more than a few bucks a gallon to run gas to get those numbers.
Good choice, you'll like it.

Please link me to a dyno sheet with a 400 hp 16g please. I would like to see where it spools, hp and torque. Are you talking about on the juice?

That would need to be a lot of supporting mods. You don't need anything to really support a 16g.

You should contact slowboy racing and call bullshit then. Seems laggy but they advertise it like that, so I wonder whats the deal?

Couldn't it be possible the extra lag is from a combination of clipping and heavy porting? Maybe? :bounce:

A 50 trim isn't that laggy.
