DD beater c5
So I finally picked up a corvette. Its a 99 hatchback ls1 6 speed with magnetic ride control. Bought the car from a guy up in forest lake this past saturday. He had for 4 years and put about 20k miles on it. The car is not perfect and needs some work but runs and drives great. So far very happy with the car. Car has a cold air intake, 80 mm bbk throttle body, and exhaust with cats deleted. Car looks great from 20 feet away anything closer you can see rock chips in the paint.
Things to fix
Oil pressure sensor
Wheel speed sensor
Tire pressure sensors
Get ecu flashed for earlier fan turn on
Figure out why the abs and traction control shut off (guessing wheel speed sensor should fix this)
Paint front bumper and touch up paint chips
Replace brake fluid
No plan on performance mods as of right now. Probably won't do any as I plan on just driving and enjoying the car. Plan is to keep it for 2 years and upgrade to something new and faster. But I have been looking and pricing stuff out like heads, cam, super charger, turbo kits but I doubt I will do anything.

Nice! I had a black '99 auto years back, that car was a lot of fun. This place is definitely turning into VetteStyle.

Hell yeah congrats! Sounds like the perfect purchase for someone willing to put in just a little bit of elbow grease. Those issues don't sound too bad at all.

Re: DD beater c5
Thanks guys. When I take it out next I will get some better pictures. I have been looking at rear spoilers for the car as I do like the looks of them. Not a big wing just a little 2 inch wing that goes on the back bumper cover. I was also looking at doing a zo6 top end but lots of people say it's not worth the money. I would like to get more power out of it and have it idle like stock. So for now going to fix the little stuff and drive it. Probably won't do any engine mods as I don't want another project.

DiabLew did great things with my buddy's C5; night & day difference. I use him for remote tuning on my C7 too and am very happy. I know of a guy trying to sell a Diablo InTune on CorvetteForum for cheap if you're interested, then DiabLew is just another $150 (which covers tuning and retuning for a full year) for the custom remote tuning.

Wow, that's cheap. I wonder if the Diablo on my Tahoe would transfer over to a C6?

Re: DD beater c5
Thanks Kracka. If I do any mods to the car I will keep him in mind. It will be awhile before I do any motor mods if do at all. I would rather save the money and buy a c6 zo6 or a viper. As those are my other dream cars to own.

Re: DD beater c5
Car looked good in person! Think Paul doing what he does for work is a little more picky and notices things the average person wouldn't lol

Sweet! It won't work on my new Tahoe so I was looking for a place for it, guess it goes in the toolbox for now.

Re: DD beater c5
VetteStyle FTW! Hopefully I will be joining some day. I'd like something I can enjoy more and work on less than my crappy projects.
A subtle lip type spoiler really looks nice on a C5. I liked that ducktail type one on Windsor's C5Z.
