The whole premiss behind Liberalism is the belief that man can't take care of himself. And this is only exasperted by high taxation on the working class to pay for liberal policies and programs that if the working class could keep more of the money they earn, they could afford all the things they need without a government program which is nothing but back door control and economic slavery, with a happy sounding label on it.

You have no idea what the premise behind liberalism is. Its not the belief that a man cant take care of himself. Its the belief that there needs to be programs to help those in need, and that we are all human and we are in this together. A healthier country is a stronger country.
High taxation is a speaking point of the republican party yet taxes are lower than 20 - 30 years ago. 30 years ago, good luck finding home loans under 30%, and income taxes on the wealthy were up near 50%.
Im sorry but without government programs, and the spending we as a country do, you can say goodbye to roads, schools, hospitals, the military, and a crap load of other programs taxes pay for.
Yes there is a decent amount of the budget (about 13%) that is spent on safety net programs, but where would our economy have been in 2008-2012 without these programs. Families put out on the street with no hope of regaining their house, or livelihood.
How about the government stops subsidizing companies and creating a corporate welfare program, Let them fail, but no, every time a business fails the republicans scream.

lol. My point was that only a liberal mindset could come up with an anti-gun commercial like that one, because most of the time they let raging ideaology get in the way of common sense.

I think we addressed the need to help those who need help already. It's not a liberal idea, its common sense.

Look around, does it look like a healthier country to you? Because of excessive government handouts you now have a permanent underclass of citizens protesting, destroying public property, looting, shooting cops, etc because the handouts aren't doing shit. Lets see, we have high unemployment (and yes it's higher than what you're being told) along side all the jobs that we keep hearing we need illegal immigration to fill because Americans won't do the jobs. Get their able to work lazy asses off unemplyment and free shit, then those jobs will be taken. Its not a safety net anyore, its a fucking lifestyle now. You want safety nets in place to help those in need yet you fail to realize the government is the one creating the "needy".

Lets see, the government sets the stage for the downturn in 2008 through high taxation along with screwed up regulations, and you want to give them credit for saving the day?

Set a flat tax for everybody, doesn't matter where the income comes from, it gets taxed at the same flat rate whether you make $100k or $100 million. I'm all for it.

There is a big difference between spending on infrastructure, military,etc., and government programs that create an underclass.

Obama has done his fair share of investing in companies that fail... such as solar energy and green energy companies in 2012 to the tune of 90 billion.. with a B. Granted not all failed but some did. I do believe taxes have gone up since obama as well.
