Black goo. Bleh. That's lame as hell. Is it just me or does the lobe on the left in picture three look odd? The lines in it. Almost looks like a crack. I'm sure it isn't but yikes.

You mean the lobe on the right?

I usually get my fuel from the same station and switch back to regular gas at the end of the season and Ive never had a problem before. last year I didnt switch back and this is what I found.

The lobe was scratched from when I tossed a rocker last year. I buffed it out and figured it was good to go since it runs on the roller.

DSMINMN, lets just say you were back in school . can you quote me a price on doing the head with all new valves , guides and 2 new seats? I can tale care of the damage to the combustion chamber .

It should be fine since it is a scratch. Granted I was in school and had the time you're looking at around $200 before driving down to get it and/or delivery. As well as assuming you supply the valves, guides, seats seals and such. It also depends on what type of guides you want to use. If they're bronze the price would reflect it because after knocking the new ones in you have to hone them and that takes a little bit of time.
