Re: 97 gsx build
I tried to locate the cas plug and it is no where to be found. The previous owner wired in the cas instead of using the harness. After I cut the wires going into the cas, I cut the a/c plug and wired in the three wires that I cut into the plug to substitute the crank plug, and then connected it to the end of the cas harness. Still no luck

Re: 97 gsx build
Started, and set base timing and so far nothing but good results. My car has never idled better, which concludes that the other cas was causing issues. I am about to go adjust the clutch pedal so I can get in gear and then go take it for a test drive!

Re: 97 gsx build
So after taking it for the first test drive I drove around the block and came back to find that I had lost a good amount of oil during the short drive. Jacked it up and noticed that one of the return line to turbo bolts was loose and had a chip in the threads which wouldn't allow it to get tighter when attempting to thread it in. Went and picked up a new bolt and got her tight and now no more leak from the return line. Since last night I have probably put about 30 miles on it and the car feels great. Actually, the car has never felt better! I am loving the stiffness of the 2900 pp!
Now I need to put some miles on the new disc and break it in. Also, I am going to install my oil pressure gauge in the cigarette lighter location tomorrow. It's nice to have a working/drive-able car again

Re: 97 gsx build
Wow that's next week! Lately I have been so focused on getting my car running I totally forgot about it. I don't think I have any plans for next weekend so I guess it depends on if I can get work off next Saturday and if the car is still running good. Would be nice to put some miles on the new setup.

Re: 97 gsx build
Just talked to my boss and she said if I can find someone to cover for my shift on Saturday I am good to go. Perhaps pink pants will take my shift if I ask nicely lol

Re: 97 gsx build
Hey guys, so far I have put 350 miles on the new clutch setup. Found out I have bad slave cylinder and am going to try to replace that tonight. Other than that, nothing but good news. The black top cas did in fact solve my knock issue. I did a few pulls at 23 psi, 11.8-12.2 a/f ratio, no knock, and only going to 5900 rpms and my link estimate was 450 hp/417 torque. Car felt awesome! Going to switch to speed density any day now, just need to replace slave first so I can get into gear. Here are some pics my buddy took with his iphone a couple days ago:

Re: 97 gsx build
Thanks guys, plan to delete a/c, install non cruise cable, and switch to sd this weekend. This car is a blast to drive! By far the fastest car I have ever driven.

Do you mind sending me a copy of your current Link settings or files before SD so I can get a general idea for your timing? I am running the same cams, 2.3L, e85, garret 60-1 and many other similar parts. I am deleting my translator for a cable straight from the MAF and I understand my timing will need to be completely redone. Deleting the A/C is worth the weight savings if you ask me btw.
