Glad to see my only 1G I ever owned parts in a sweet car! Headliner and carpet look good!

Re: my new project

Here's a little update on the car. The car has about 130 miles on it no issues. So right now the plan is to put as many miles on it as I can over the next two weeks. Then the weekend of April 6th and 7th hopefully swapping turbos and having my exhaust redone to fit the new turbo. Then I'll have about two weeks to get any boost leaks or any other bugs that may come up sorted out. Then the car should be going on the dyno for a tune on April 22nd. Things are finally coming together with this thing. Can't wait for it to be done

Re: my new project

Okay I put some more miles on the talon today and we ran into some issues. It died on me and wouldn't restart. I had to have it towed to my work. I ended up not having spark. the light on the side of my msd wasn't lighting up. of course I forgot my bypass plug for the msd. nick (cornfed2.4) and joel (99gsxjoel) were kind enough to run my bypass plug down to me. The car fired right up. I let the car warm up and then plugged the msd back in and it ran fine.

Then on my way back to my buddies house where I have been keeping the car the alternator quit charging again. I barely made it back to wyoming. The car died right as I pulled into my buddies driveway. so now I get to look into that yay.

On the bright side there is now over 200 miles on the new engine. A huge thanks to nick and joel for helping me out tonight!!!!!

Re: my new project

I was able to take a look at the talon today to see why it wasn't charging. I was not looking forward to dealing with charging issues. Luckily it's just the alternator relocation bracket broke. So it's an easy fix. I was able to get a hold of jay from Jay racing and he said he can ship a new one out tomorrow. It was either another aluminum one free of charge or an upgraded steel one for $25. I went with the steel one to hopefully avoid this issue in the future.

Yeah me too! It was a first for me and this car lol

Well I got the new alt bracket yesterday. Being steel It is definitely a lot heavier or a lot more stout. Hopefully I won't have any problems with this one for a long time. I put the car back together tonight. I just need to charge the battery and fire her up.

I'm waiting on a vband and clamp clamp for my exhaust. Hopefully it will be here early next week. As of right now it's setup to swap turbos and have the exhaust done next Saturday. I'm really just hoping things go smoothly and as planned over the next few weeks so I can finally have some fun with this bish.
