Re: My New 98 gsx build
Oh I have been taking what you all been giving for advice.. And it's helped a lot actually.. And I've been trying to figure it all out, Some of you are saying things that others say are pointless and also the other way around.
So stop thinking that I'm just saying yeah oh whatever never mind bullshit.. Cause I'm not. Just trying to figure things out.. So stop bashing on somebody new to all this shit and is trying to piece together a build. Some questions may seem similar, It's just because I'm hearing others say good n bad about it. You guys ain't the ones putting a lot of money into this build, So yeah I'm gonna ask questions and make damn sure it's perfect.

Re: My New 98 gsx build
I make just over 600awhp on MAPs dyno with a stock flanged turbo and I am more than content. I wouldn't hesitate to drive the car daily if I wanted. Good luck with your build. Sounds like you want some massive power on that thing.

Re: My New 98 gsx build
I know I went overkill lol but reason I did that is because I'll probably never have to worry about the engine again nor pull it out, I can put it in and leave it alone and then be able to just add to it.

Awww shit STREET RACER!!!!!
Wouldn't 11.0:1 with a 58mm and E85 make your goal and have a big powerband for your street racing?

Re: My New 98 gsx build
even 9.0:1 would work, i know its enough to take down a low 10 sec transam and thats without good cams or SMIM.

Re: My New 98 gsx build
Update on build..
Shortblock n head currently still being assembled
List of parts I'm planning on getting soon, Any suggestions would be great.
Mishimoto Radiator
Mishimoto Fan Shroud
JM Fab Race Intake
Fidanza Adjustable Cam Gears
FuelLab 828Series In-Line Filter
Aeromotive AFPR Or MAP AFPR Kit
Tial Bov.. Which one I'm not sure yet
I might be stuck using my 16G for a few months with this current setup.. Sadly, But doubt I'll be able to afford a new turbo setup after all this right away, Which if so I'll probably wait to setup SD as well.. I bought dsmlink v3 couple weeks ago also.
Would a 2g fuel rail work for a 1g head? If not I'll probably just buy an aftermarket one.

Re: My New 98 gsx build
Pretty sure the fuel rails are all compatible. If not a 1g one is like $10. No reason to buy an aftermarket one, the stockers are good for buttloads of power.
Nothing wrong with sticking with the 16g a little longer, the last 5 years turbos have been like cell phones, a new flavor every other month and if it's 6 months old its outdated. See what the new technology is once you can afford it and go with that.

Re: My New 98 gsx build
Update on build:
MAP AFPR Installation Kit
Fuelab 515 Series Fuel Pressure Regulator
Mishimoto Radiator
Mishimoto Fan Shroud Kit
JM Fab Race intake manifold
1G n/t TB
TiAL Bov
Fidanza Cam Gear
Prothane Motor Mount Inserts
Pretty much got everything bought now for the GSX, besides some maintenance items. realizing how close I am, I'm getting real excited. This is huge for me, I'm gonna be speechless when it's all installed and ready to go, That first start up and hearing it idle.. Probably gonna bring tears to my eyes and that first cruise will be the happiest moment of my life...
