Re: my new project

Have you thought about installing a voltage gauge?

Win or lose its all about fun. But we will need to get video of all the fun runs.

The turbo timer reads voltage that's how I've been keeping track of the voltage while driving.

It def is all about having fun! Some video would be awesome!

Looking good. Shouldnt that center section of the turbo face up and down and not be at an angle like that for the oil to flow out properly?

Re: my new project

thanks! It would probably be a little better if it was straight up and down. The gt42 was at a slight angle to and never had any problems. With the current oil drain line if I put the center section straight up and down it will kink the return line. And I'm not at a point where I can or will make a new line. so I guess it's pick your poison. Plus everything is such a tight fit in there with the top mount manifold I don't want to mess with it too much cause it seems to work right now

Re: my new project

Also john had a good idea of maybe trying to find a 5in to 4in reducing coupler but I couldn't find anything like that with the limited searching I did online so tonight I order an air filter, some 4in aluminum pipe, a coupler and some clamps. Everything I need to make an intake for the car

Re: my new project

So i made an intake pipe tonight and got a boost leak tester from cornfed2.4. Thanks!
Now I just need to do a boost leak test. Fix any boost leaks if there are any and the car will be ready to get tuned. Just a little over a week to make sure everything is good to go!

Re: my new project

I forgot I accidentally leaned on one of the ignition coils and broke it when I put the new alternator bracket in. The car still ran fine with no miss fires but I picked up some coils and replaced it this weekend. now I have a few spares if I ever need them.

I still need to do a boost leak test sometime asap.

she goes on the dyno for a tune one week from tomorrow. I'm getting nervous and excited lol. It's going to be a long week to say the least

Might be hard to skip out on a Monday but I'll try haha. You know if you have the rest of the day for the tune or just a few hours?

Thanks! I feel like I need it lol. After what happened last year on the dyno I have definitely taken the time to go through this thing as good as I possibly could. Shane gave me a list of stuff to do last year and I've done everything on that list. I've gone over the checklist on db's website. I think a boost leak test is all that's left that I need to do. I will also comb over things to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Okay man sounds good just keep me posted. As for the dyno time I'm not sure. I made the appointment a while ago and Shane knows my car lol so I would assume he allotted enough time for it. Not sure how long it will take but based on how things went last year I would guess it will be on the dyno till 5 or 6. Unless it goes a lot faster this time

With less Swifty jankiness out of the engine bay, it will most likely go quicker. haha

Lol I think overall Swifty did a pretty good job with the car. Most of whats gone on with it I would attribute to just normal car stuff nothing that Swifty did
