Kicking around some All Mitsu Cookout dates

I'm starting some planning for the All Mitsu Cookout this year. I'm thinking about having it the weekend of August 20-21. I was wondering if you knew of any conflicts with those dates? Do people like Saturday or Sunday best?

I see there is the Lucus Oil Nationals at BIR that weekend and a MAC auto-x test n tune on that Sunday. Those are the only conflicts I see.

Lets hear some opinions.

Saturdays always get my vote, I do not enjoy standing around in the sun all day and having to go to work the next.

I like saturdays as well. I will be getting married on Aug 20th. So if its that day I won't be in attendance.

Looks like the shootout is the 20-21st. I'll probably shoot for the following weekend, August 27-28. The Bemidji Rally is the 26-27th. Sunday, 28th might be the best day. More opinions??

That should be okay, SCCA Solo Nationals are during that following week, and Chump Car is at Iowa the next weekend.

Works for me too, I'm not making the shootout I don't think and I have national guard the 20-21.

College move in is the 27th-28th for me, so the 20th-21st would work better for me.

I filed for the permit from the school. So assuming there is no conflicts with the school, we'll be having the All Mitsu Cookout on Sunday, August 28th.

Re: Kicking around some All Mitsu Cookout dates

I hate sunday's everyone hates going to work the next day after a show. What we really need is too do it on Saturday... does not matter the dates... but a Saturday would be better just because if it rains we have a backup day which could be sunday.

Its better to throw it on saturday and if a "Rain Out" happens then its thrown on sunday.

But whatever ill still try to make it if i dont work on saturday.. you would think alot of people would do overtime on saturday's but most of people dont do overtime on sunday.

Just my opinion.

There are pros and cons for either day. We don't do rain outs. I have the permit for a particular day. Its a rain or shine event. Most car shows are ran that way. If it rains and half the people don't show, then I take it in the shorts and find a way to make up my losses.

I personally like Saturdays a little better, but this year I'm doing the Cookout on the same weekend as the Rally in Bemidji. But the rally is Friday and Saturday. So we are going to do the Cookout on Sunday, August 28th. My biggest helper with the Cookout goes to the rally and he is indispensable.

I appreciate the input.

Curt

Re: Kicking around some All Mitsu Cookout dates

Made some phone calls today and I think I have the big things set. The permit is approved for Sunday, August 28th. And both MAP and Brookdale Mitsubishi will be our main sponsors again! So I'll be getting a new thread put out there soon with all the sign up information and webpage info.

later,
Curt
