He ran out of gear anyways. About half way through he just cruised in 5th gear for a good 5-6 seconds, then got into it again through the traps.

There are videos of him topping out the car at BIR and that's only a 1/2 mile. He trapped 137 in the 1/4 last year without a hard launch.
