50 rpms?

Went into little boost in 1st gear, let the rpms come down a bit, heard the car go pop now try and start it and the rpms are at like 50. And hardly revs and doesn't shake at at all (solid motor mounts).

Any ideas?

Re: 50 rpms?

Oh it starts...kinda. It literally runs. At like 50rpm maybe, just won't move, doesn't even sound right and hardly revs when the gas is pushed in.

Re: 50 rpms?

I do not know. It just happened and I left...It was cold as fuck out and I didn't have any tools. Me and Chris will probably go back later and check on it. It's in the tech parking lot right now.

Re: 50 rpms?

All the intercooler pipes attached? Mass airflow sensor, cam angle sensor and throttle position sensor plugged in? Alternator fuse okay? Any check engine lights?

Sounds like you blew a intercooler pipe off to me.

Re: 50 rpms?

Now regarding your issue, check your intercooler piping as mentioned above, most likely you have a giant air leak.

Re: 50 rpms?

Jungy we checked and only running on 2 cylinders. Brought it to presicion and they said it was the computer...doubtful. Got a new coil something, I forgot what it really was. But got a new one of those and that didn't fix it. Any other suggestions on what might it could be?

Re: 50 rpms?

You replaced the coil and still no go? How about the power transistor?

Re: 50 rpms?

I'd verify what's causing those two cylinders to not be running. Fuel or spark (most likely spark). The follow that back until you find the problem. If it's spark, start checking plugs, wires, coil, ignitor... If no fuel, start checking injectors, injector plugs/wiring, resistor pack...

Re: 50 rpms?

Which two cylinders aren't working? The DSM runs a wasted spark system, if they share a coil, your problem is ignition. If they don't share a coil, something else may be wrong mechanically.
I am leaning towards a coil/transistor/wiring concern.

Re: 50 rpms?

Ok this should probably go in the WTBorrow section ha but I already have a thread setup for this, but anyone in/around the Alexandria area have an Ignition Control Module that I could borrow asap to see if thats the part I need, that would be EXTREMELY helpful.
