Re: My fun and frustrating Evo IX.

My Dad picked the car up from Mitsu the other day and drove it back to DB.

Mitsu is pretty proud of that solenoid, the part was ~$460. Labor was like $100 something. I don't know for sure... when I asked my dad how much the bill was to send him money through paypal I got told it was free.

Just waiting for Shane to get back and have a chance to get it on the dyno again. I'm not in any hurry now as my Dad wont drive it in the winter and it's just going to go from DB->storage anyway.

Some friends of mine here in Astan are trying REALLY hard to convince me to buy a turbo when we get back. Especially the one that's determined to get a used Porche 996 turbo.

Re: My fun and frustrating Evo IX.

Well. Two-Three days out from being back stateside for good.

I found out I was single on X-mas eve, so I spent the money I was going to use on our trip for a ported FP Red+Speed Density intake. Have an ETS UICP and TiAL BOV coming too.

Though, there was another problem...

FP Turbos are backordered apparently. The original plan was to have it sent to MN, then have Shane put in the Red and tune it.

Instead, Shane is just going to do a 93 and E85 tune with the stock turbo, this way atleast I'll have baselines before the turbo swap.

Once Shane is done with it(again, lol) my dad is going to have the car shipped to me in KY since he doesn't want to tow or drive it down to me.

Probably going to end up having AWD Motorsports do the turbo install and retunes while I'm on leave in March. I'm going to be about 20 minutes from their shop visiting some family of mine anyway.

Just sort of hope to have similar numbers to Zivman.

Sent from Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. Hopefully tomorrow I can randomly get on from Manas, Kyrgyzstan... then "home" a day or two later.
