XTDŽ CLUTCH KIT
Are they any good or are they just junk. I need to get a clutch for my car and I don't know what kind to get. They all sound the same to me any idea on what kind I should get. I just put in all new bearing and I know the motor is good for over 500awhp.

I'd stay away personally. Too many negative stories regarding their products, and the company itself. I know I posted a link to an interesting thread regarding them a couple months ago, no idea which thread...

Another good clutch would be an Exedy Twin disk, but at 500AWHP (@ DB anyways) I don't know if it would hold. BUT, clutches are rated for TQ at the flywheel not HP, so you may be ok if you still have the 35R setup and it's a little on the laggy side. I'm sure most people will tell you to go with the ACT 6 puck though. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's HDG6.
Pretty sure Jim (TalonFiero/TalonEvo) plans on running the 6 puck sprung with his 2.3 + FP Black setup and he will make good power at DB.

Re: XTDŽ CLUTCH KIT
I got an xtd 6 puck clutch in mine. It works great, noisy on deaccel. It was cheap and i wouldnt get mad if i trashed it from learning a manual. later ill get an act sprung 6 puck but for now its an xtd. on an evo i would never go xtd

Re: XTDŽ CLUTCH KIT
Don't buy a xtd clutch for an evo. I like xtd clutches never had a problem. But they were in low powered cars compared to an evo making 500 at the wheels. If you have an evo then you should have the money to buy a good clutch like a act. I have heard of some people buying cheap clutches for evos and them going bad after a couple miles. I would go with what goodhart said act 6 puck or twin disk.

Re: XTDŽ CLUTCH KIT
Thanks for the info I was thinking of going with the ACT XTREME SPRUNG 6 PUCK CLUTCH. I had a 4 puck sold disc in it before I wanted to get some thing that not so no or off all the time.

Evo don't cost that much it's the go fast part that cost alot of money. ACT 6 puck are $600 to $800 for a good one but to get a twin disk it's more like $1,500 to $2,000. I was looking at getting the ACT 6 puck I have there sold 4 puck now. I was just seeing what else people were using because $2,000 for a clutch that don't last more then 30k mile if that is a wast of money to me.

Go with a Competition Clutch stage 3 or 4. I loved my sprung 6 puck. So nice.

Comp clutches suck nuts in Evo's. All I've heard is bad things about them in Evo's even though they do great in DSM's.

Re: XTDŽ CLUTCH KIT
Stay away from them. Just get an ACT2900. I have changed several XTD clutches on Evos to ACT's they don't hold the power. Once you start getting modded dumping the clutch at 6000rpm the clutch will start slipping. ACT2900 is the way to go they hold all the power and are street friendly.
