psh, I ran at least a mid-high 11 time last year. Hopefully I'll take steps forwards, and not back.

BUT, if either of us not only run an 11, but sneak into the 10 range. He has to payban himself for a week.

Re: What does it take to run a 10? 500whp@DB, practice, or both? Neither?

I like this idea. 12's and we will payban you. 11's are nuetral. 10's, I will payban myself

Don't get me wrong, I really hope this ends in me paybanning myself because that's a great accomplishment!

I wish you guys the best of luck!!!

Keep in mind my 10 was a very high 10. 10.93 and I trapped 137mph. This was at appx 540hp at DB, and on a 1G with a little bit of weight reduction but not a ton. And that was probably my 15th or so pass on that setup. The launch and 1-2 shift seemed to be key. And like others said, the larger the turbo, the trickier the launch seems to be.

But I still consider myself a drag racing newb, so I'm not an expert what-so-ever. I'm still learning right along with y'all. You may turn out to be way better drivers then me right off the bat, who knows. Either way, it's all about having fun to me!

And yeah it'd be fun to come, but my next 2 weekends are already booked up with other crap. And then by the time I have an open weekend, I'm hoping either my car is sold, or it's in the middle of disassembly to start being parted out. Sad

^Not sure why you think his has a better chance, my car has lost quite a bit of lbs through certain parts and completely gutted trunk. I bet I am around 3450-3475. I doubt Jake's is much lighter...driving will be a much bigger issue than weight.

However, his NLTS has a huge advantage over me for sure.

I give him the advantage because he's been to the track many times and his car wieghts less than yours. And yes nlts is a huge thing as well..

Re: What does it take to run a 10? 500whp@DB, practice, or both? Neither?

Like I said, I doubt our cars will weigh too much different, but yea no NTLS will suck, but not the end of the world. I agree he has a better chance...but I have seen first timers do well before, I am optimistic for sure, but either way i will have fun.

I guess I didn't know he has gone that much, but honestly on a totally new setup, he will be on a similar learning curve.

Edit: I should've rephrased my previous post that you quoted, not sure why you don't think I have a chance is a better statement, but like i said here, i understand where you are coming from.

Something to note quick, I don't want this to be a Me vs. Jake thread, lol. I am in no way trying to compete with him, until recently I wasn't even aware that his build was so extensive.

I hope we both run good times and we will have similar setups as well.

I think it will be interesting to see how each build goes and ends up. I guess what I am trying to say is i think the builds will have similar results, but only time will tell

Hell, they're technically less than that. Mine was 3220 with nobody in it, completely full tank, spare still in the trunk. Take half the fuel out and yank the spare and you're in the 3100s.

My car was around 3600 the other day with spare and full tank. My car isn't stock, either...the exhaust and other parts are lighter. Plenty of stuff that could be removed, though.
