Re: 2010 MAC/Met Council Autocross Schedule
If I get my tranny fixed and can find the long battery hold down bolt for a 1g, seems impossible to do that. I will try to make it out to midway to find out how the fwd handles.

That's on the 9th?
I might be down. 2x 1g's at an autoX would be the lulz

Re: 2010 MAC/Met Council Autocross Schedule
Hey Paul, did Jeff do your alignment after you put in the active toe eliminators? He vaguely remembered doing it, but he thought it was my car.
and yes, the 9th. Wanna have a Street Modified F battle with me?

Yea Jeff did the alignment.... his main alignment tool of choice was profanity
Oh sure, why the hell not!

Re: 2010 MAC/Met Council Autocross Schedule
did you have any issues with the toe being off due to the toe elims? Turns out the collar protrudes just a bit too much from the trailing arm for mine... with the locknut in there I couldn't get the rod end in far enough and was getting toe-out. We had to take the locknut out and mill it down so we could get a couple more turns out of the rod end
If i pull the trailing arms out again, i'm gonna mill the insert itself down a bit.

COM event = be prepared to stand around for 12 hours and race for 12 minutes. Just a heads up

Actually, I did not. The toe was very neutral - I must have lucked out. With your eliminator and the RM rear bar, the car actually rotates when I tell it to.

Yea, that's unfortunately the case... I just was frustrated by my performance last time out so I want another crack at it.

Re: 2010 MAC/Met Council Autocross Schedule
Not test and tunes. Many times test and tunes people can get in 20-30 runs if they want. Not 6 like the COM events

Re: 2010 MAC/Met Council Autocross Schedule
From the one COM event and one MAC event I have been to, the COM event was just run very cumbersome, lots of down time between run groups, etc. lots of wasted time. I was literally there for 13 hours and didn't even stick around to work the corners for the last few run groups. (Yes, I was that jackass)
MAC runs their events much more efficient IMO.

12 to 13 hours, really? That's not even close man. Even with higher volume MAC events you're standing about 3, maybe 4 hours tops if you are working cones. I'd say 3 is closer if they don't have the population needed to only need people to work one heat each.

It's more laid back, but it's a lot of the same people in the end who help run and design the course.
This weekend there is about 60 signed up so far, I'm sure they will be closer to 70 or 80 with walk ups if the weather is good, and the first COM event I ran this year was a fucking blast. Course was fast and I was done and home by 4pm ish. Spend maybe 2 total hours working cones (1 hr each heat).
Anyone who goes this weekend will have a blast, it's the last weekend for DCTC for the year for auto x at least.
Here is one of my videos from M5, that was a fun course!

Re: 2010 MAC/Met Council Autocross Schedule
ah... I just really want to run Dakota tech. Anyone run there before? Is it faster than a normal autox? The course they have there is really cool and seems to have good potential.

Re: 2010 MAC/Met Council Autocross Schedule
DCTC is super fast compared to other auto-x's I've seen. In my old slow stock automatic wrx I was hitting 65-70 mph in the straights.

DCTC is the most fun autocross course I've ever driven.
