Is a mediocre (or even awful) auto-x driver better than a bench racer? That seems to be the implication.
I don't get the mechanic vs non-mechanic, racer vs non-racer, and poor vs rich sentiment...which amazingly has shown up all in the same thread.
If you're using a car for more than transportation and you're not a mechanic for pay then this is a f-ing hobby! Some people take themselves way too seriously, imo.
