Re: Evo X upgrades

They didn't at least install them so they were level? Thats aweful man, no wonder they ride like crap! Was the preload set on the springs at all? Maybe that's why its so bouncy. Coilovers are not just a slap-in-and-go install.

I'm afraid not. My big problem was the rear rebound set too stiff but I sorted that one. I don't think these KWs have a preload since you'd need dual collars on the body for that, right? These just have one collar for the height adjustment.

The other reason I've put off fixing the rear height is that I've never adjusted ride height before and I'm not sure if the wheel has to come off to do it right or not. There sure isn't much clearance in the wheel-well area on these cars.

Just something else on the long list of things that I need to learn/figure out.

Please get the story straight before your comments.
I was ask specifically to get the height as close to factory as possible. The rears worked out fine but the front I can only get to where its at now which is 3/4 lower than factory. I shouldn't have to defend myself but some of these comments are too much. And every single one has no basis but to say something bad about the shop. New year same ol stuff.

Quite true since I didn't buy coilovers for the sake of lowering the car, as most people do. I think it would make sense to adjust the front & rear to the same relative height, though. I'm assuming that it was equal on the stock suspension but I was planning to measure a stock X (maybe your car the next time I'm in) to be sure.

A 3/4" drop will take a little edge off of the 4x4 look while still giving me enough ground clearance to drive without worrying about scraping anything.

Umm, you're reading into my comments way too much man. I was completely hypothesizing based on some of his previous comments. Surely you are aware that installing coilovers is not as simple as installing struts/springs and they do require a bit of fiddling, depending on the model. I wasn't there for the install, and Lomker made several comments wondering about the ride quality, and then one of staggered ride height. I was trying to help him troubleshoot.

I got nothing against you or RS, not sure what else to say, calm down
