I wonder how they determine that. Wouldn't a catastrophic failure of the Center Section destroy a turbine blade?

Well my center section didn't fail... I thought the shaft seized, because I could not move it with my hand, and the oil fitting was loose and oil was on the fitting. But the center shaft is not blued at all, and the bearings are perfect. There is a clean break on one of the fins of the turbine shaft, and the people at DC said it most likely broke off and the foreign object and out of balance wheel is what cause the destruction. The shaft is actually bent, too. So if the shaft did bend, and wear into the cast center section I would have just needed a new turbine shaft.
