Not again...
I just lost my full time job again today. The company went out of business last night, at least I got a decent severance package I won't have to worry about that crappy ass drive either! I will have some time on my hands so I'll get the shop fired up more. So, if anyone knows of a management job, especially in the service area, let me know!
I should be able to make it to some more gatherings now too, which will be nice.

Re: Not again...
Yeah, we had some warning. About 4 weeks ago we basically shut off payments to anyone. We have some pissed off retailers (Menards, Best Buy, Circuit City, Sams Club) and some REALLY pissed off manufacturers Not to mention the service center, service network and parts distributor I managed. They tried to keep me in another branch of the company, but there just wasn't enough to keep me busy.
Life will go on, but it happens at a really bad time. I am getting married in 5 weeks and have 2 houses.

Re: Not again...
That sucks dude, but I know you'll make it out okay. You have any sort of engineering background? I know we are or were looking for a manufacturing engineer.

Re: Not again...
Sorry to hear. Did you ever get that Intake manifold design created?

Re: Not again...
The design has been created for some time, it's the actual product that is taking some time Depending on how long it takes to find a new job, that may actually come to fruition soon.

Re: Not again...
Nope, this was the one after that. We made major appliances under the Oster and Sunbeam names, a sister company does Element televisions.

Re: Not again...
Sorry to hear man. If you google Westinghouse Brass Ring, and click on the I'm Feeling Lucky button, it'll take you to a page that lists all the openings in my company. Make sure when it has you select some criteria, just click on the Location box and find the Shoreview, MN location, and just search for all jobs. That'll show you all the job openings at my company.

Re: Not again...
SOrry to hear, but i have wondered where you have been all summer.
Maybe this is the chance to find something you could be 100% happy with or damn close to where you can still enjoy life.
Good luck on the search.

Re: Not again...
Bummer on the job. Good luck with running the shop. It's cool to hear you doing your own thing. It is a strange job market now. I've started my own business recently and use a part time job to supplement income as I get things ramped up. Finding FT that is worth the trade off is not easy.
Do you think you can make your shop a full time gig?

Re: Not again...
I don't plan to do the shop full time, it would be rough in the winter time. It will help me make ends meet while I am laid off though.
