Wooden Supercar

Quote:
The world's first wooden supercar has been unveiled - and it's faster than a Porsche or a Lamborghini.
Quote:
The 'Splinter' car can turn out a whopping 700bhp from its twin supercharged, 4.6litre V8 engine - almost 300bhp more than a Porsche 911.
Quote:
With a top speed of a staggering 240mph, it will leave the Porsche or even the brand new Lamborghini Reventon trailing in its wake.

Seems people are really thinking differently now. (See BMW GINA, etc.)

Comment: Wouldn't it suck worrying about vandals, and forget paint - bust out the varnish and pine-sol

Re: Wooden Supercar

There are so many jokes we could make about this car. Here are some me and project2g had though of.
Wax with Pine Sol.
Stain it for a color change.
Why key it? Chip it.
The super car for old impotent men, Instant Woody
Body kit from the home depot lumber dept.
No one could make fun of me any more for using woodscrews to hold on my old body kit.
Spruce moose.
Working on your car could yeild some serious splinters.
Fire hazard.

Re: Wooden Supercar

I think the wood is built in alternating layers and is supposed to have the strength better than carbon fiber. I like the unique take on design. Still odd though.

Re: Wooden Supercar

They would never actually mass produce cars out of wood though. The hippies would be all over that one, Cutting down the forests to mass produce cars that kill the ozone.
