Re: easiest way and fluid level

Getting the car level on jack-stands (or ramps, or however you will do it) is a good start. First thing you want to do is remove the fill bolts, then remove the drain bolts and let them drain (let them drip for a few mins). Do this after a good drive so the fluid is nice and warm. Reinstall the drain plugs then use a fluids transfer pump (they are about $10 at Walmart and most auto parts stores) to fill them both back up. You know they are full when the fluid level is even with the fill hole. If you overfill just let them drip for a bit. Reinstall the fill bolts and be on your merry way. Mobil 1 or Redline 75W-90 GL-5 gear oil is a good choice for you xfer case and rear diff. While you're under there you also might as well change out the manual transmission fluid (assuming you are MT) with some Redline GL-4 tranny fluid (2 quarts of MT-90 and 1 quart of MTL works great in Mitsu transmissions).
