Re: My Winter Upgrades
That was my dilemma too, too many things started to build up and I didn't have transportation to work on it very often, very happy with my decision to have a shop finish it up for me. Better than I could have done myself.

Re: My Winter Upgrades
Honestly I know you want to enjoy your car as much as everyone else does. But I promise you will enjoy it more if you just do it your self. But that is just my opinion... If you really have the itch to drive it a decent amount this season and you can afford to have a shop take care of it for you, then I don't see what is stopping you.
Just my two cents.

Re: My Winter Upgrades
Well I think what I'm going to do is this. I'm going to leave it in my garage. If all goes well, I should be back around the 31st, and I don't leave again until the 7th. That will give me a week to get a lot done on it. Then if I don't have it all done after that week, I will probably pay to have the last few things buttoned up. Right now it's just kind of a mess, bits and pieces in the valve cover, on the windshield, on the floor, on my shelves, etc. It'd be a real mess for somebody to try and locate all the parts and put it back together right now without me kind of organizing it more. So when I get back, that'll give me a chance to finish up a lot of it, get things more organized, and have it ready for someone else to button up. That way when I get back from Spain, it should be ready to start dialing in the new setup.

Thanks!
I had to order some new 2.25" piping for my intake manifold. I originally bought 2.5" but ended up being bigger then I wanted. Ordered it from http://www.onlinemetals.com/http://d...reply&p=233311
Everything else except that 2.25" piping was ordered from discount steel.
Also I just ordered all the parts to make myself a new fuel feed line that goes from the stock filter, to the fuel rail. Cost was $74 shipped from Summit. For anyone else that ever wants to make one, here's what I ordered, and the part numbers to order from Summit.
EAR-350306ERL - 3' Earl's Pro-Lite 350 nylon braided hose, -6AN (You could save $ by just going with SS Braided line, but I opted for this because it's lighter and less abrasive then SS Braided, and also I like the black subtle look of it.)
Earls P/N 991945 - 12mm x 1.25 to -6AN adapter (goes into the stock filter).
SUM-220648B - 3/8NPT to -6AN adapter (will tap fuel rail to accept 3/8NPT end).
SUM-220686B - 45* Hose Fitting -6AN
SUM-220687B - 90* Hose Fitting -6AN

Re: My Winter Upgrades
I don't really remember exactly. I think I turned it to like 150*, and let it sit in there for a few minutes. It was hot enough that I couldn't hold it in my bare hand for much more then 5 seconds. I had to wear gloves. Then I just slapped some dish soap on the inside of the coupler, and the outside of the TB Elbow to help it slide.

Re: My Winter Upgrades
I also had a very thin screwdriver that I used to help get it on. It took a good 10 minutes, full of cussing.

Re: My Winter Upgrades
Well I got home today, put together the fuel feed line. Now I have never assembled a SS braided line before, but I've heard the horror stories about how much of a PITA they can be. This nylon braided stuff was cake. I had both ends on within 5 minutes while sitting on my couch with no tools. I'm really glad I ordered that!

Re: My Winter Upgrades
Just some quick shots. 2nd Walbro 255hp came in today. Also a pic of the fuel feed line. It's a bit long, I'll probably cut it in half about, but I was just playing with putting the ends on, and it was cake. Also some shots of the smim slowly coming together.
