Re: Corvette gone bad

One more reason I've never let anyone work on my car. On any of the cars I worked on when I was doing a lot of timing belts and clutches, I never drove them more than a mile because I was operating out of my garage at the time and didn't have business insurance to cover such damages. I wouldn't have anyways, it's just not good business.

Re: Corvette gone bad

Wow, I'd like to know what they hit to cause that kind of damage. It almost looks like they jumped a curb or something, but none of the wheels are bent. Broken yes, but not bent, which is what you would expect if they jumped a curb or something. No signs of a hard impact either, and the airbags aren't blown, yet their heads hit the windshield hard enough to break it, and bend the steering wheel.

My guess is that he took a corner to fast, front end started pushing, he panicked and locked up the brakes.

Re: Corvette gone bad

I think on a lot of newer cars the airbags won't deploy if the seatbelts aren't buckled.

Re: Corvette gone bad

It doesn't matter if the seatbelts are buckled or not. The airbags will deploy in a front end collision no matter what.

Wrong. Do a search on "smart airbags" once. Many do not deploy if the seatbelt is not worn. These were mandated in 2005.

Re: Corvette gone bad

That is just a shitty situation. It's nice to see the owner is willing to do something to help her, but at the same time I can understand the lady not wanting him to ever touch another one of her cars. If it were me, I think I would have taken his offer.

Re: Corvette gone bad

This is way before that, before you found "Drive" hahaha J/K

Still remember my old screenname of "BrnOutKing" and I was asked to be technical support person for a Racing game that got picked up by Walmart, Target, and Best Buy. And they ended up making me the main character in the game. I can't remember the game name. Nash you still have it on your computer?

Something like "Midnight Outlaw Street Racer" if you go to the credits you'll see my name and old screen name.

Also the time when Jake was running 606whp on his camaro. I know Nash was with us when we first raced, who else came out that night?
