Re: I'm Back

Finally someone who understands. My point from a reliability aspect is that i've heard of more turbos going bad than superchargers has well has S/C being better than T/C has a daily driver (especially when I have a lead foot).

I'm not too worried about the fab work, has my Uncle and I are going to do it ourselves. The part that a shop will handle will be the tuning of everything.

Re: I'm Back

I guess I'm just not seeing the point in using a s/c to get 200 hp when you could spend less money, get a stock tsi or gst, throw a few cheap mods on it and have a better, more reliable car. I'm pretty sure that a 90% stock turbo'd car will be more reliable than a supercharged car with an engine not meant to see boost.

Maybe because there are far more turbos on the road than superchargers?

Guys do your selves a favor and stop now. He WANTS to do it JUST TO DO IT.

As far as reliabilty, well we can sit here and guess, but maybe we should do some research or somthing.

Re: I'm Back

Your funny turbolagtalon1g

Kevin 1g drummer a stock gsx/tsi would have been seriously beat on because everybody thinks of F and F when you think about a 2g DSM

Matt D. your right than is a poor assumption on my part

on another note I've desided to turbo. My uncle is unhappy with my decision to switch from PGT's to DSM (he has a PGL that he's going to put in the 1g PGT motor in) so he's not going to help. The guy I sold my PGT to siad he'll help me put together the kit, install and help tune the engine. He said alot of his friends have gsx's so some of you may know him.

Because they work? If superchargers are so great then why don't more car manufacturers use them instead of turbos?

Actually more factory cars are coming with superchargers now.
Nissan and Subaru for starters. I will would have to do a little more research but I am pretty sure there is a lot more than that!

Re: I'm Back

thats because people dont like "turbo lag"... I honestly think that if turbo's werent being maxed out from people like us trying to get higher numbers out of them that they can be just as reliable or even more reliable than superchargers... especially when going aftermarket.
