Re: Now Showing: My GST
Lookin good, I like the 99 conversion and I LOVE black! Just a couple thing I noticed(take them as you will im just tryin to help). You need to cut the grill opening a little more so its not all wavy and get the side skirts painted black and its good to go(just my opinions). looks really good tho.

Re: Now Showing: My GST
I wish my stupid passenger side wasn't starting to rust. God dangit. Very clean.
When you did the rear conversion, its not too bad is it? Basically everything bolts up and the harness matches up to the 97-99 rear lights?
I've yet to do mine.

Re: Now Showing: My GST
Yes, the conversion was pretty simple. Did it 2 years ago though but don't recall it being too hard. Everything does pretty much bolt up. The reverse light was short on my car but nothing too hard to fix. Went and bought some wires and cut, splice, tap, and tape it. No problems with it ever since I've done it.

I would cut the grill except it's a Greddy fmic so the pipe runs along the top, right behind the grill so if I were to cut it off, the pipe would be showing, but it doesn't really bother me. As for the grey part, I'll think about it. I just don't want the paint to be all dull and ugly.

Re: Now Showing: My GST
I was actually talking about the bottom. to me it looks like its pressed against the fmic. I know I had to cut mine when I put my greddy fmic in.

Only thing major is maybe the engine? If you remember awhile back I posted that the compression on the engine was 120 across. Rotors and brakes were bad and felt like an earthquake everytime I braked but I got those replaced just last weekend with some Duralast rotors and pads and the car brakes a lot better and very smooth now.
Other than that, there's really not anything major.

Black 2g's look almost as good as white 2g's. ;-)

Re: Now Showing: My GST
except when the black 2g gets a single grain of dust it can be seen from a mile away!
yeah, i like black cars, white is a bit classier, but nothing is more nicer than a clean black car!

Sure did! On a serious note, it broke off. I tried super glueing it back but it eventually fell out somewhere and was never found but I have not experienced any oil leakage so I'll just leave it for now. I do plan on getting a new one ordered though. I don't want to get any aftermarket ones because I tried that and oil just squirted out everywhere compared to my stock one with the "dipstick delete" mod.
I do love my black gst but the whole dust thing on black cars really sucks. That's why I hate waxing my car and such because normally on the day after or if I take the car for a drive after the wax job, the car becomes a magnet to dust.

Re: Now Showing: My GST
^^ I know exactly what you mean. I have a black 1g, and it's a pain in the ass to keep clean.

I have the same Greddy fmic on my white 2g. If you cut the the whole lip all the way around off, it doesn't show the pipe running across. But, if you like it the way it is, so be it...

Re: Now Showing: My GST
On mine with the GReddy 24R core, I left the black strip in place, but removed everything behind it to help with air flow to the top of the core. If you trim your bumper cover well and keep the sides and bottom close to the intercooler like I did, air pressure will push air through the top section of the core. You should try to straighten out the mounting of you core, looks crooked.
See pic.
