That's another thing I'd like to avoid. 1 thread = a ton of clutter. When you have a more accurate list, I'd just make a new thread so it's back to a clean slate.
And take out the link in your sig There is no need to have that.

Re: Classified Rule Change Vote
Think about it this way. The new guys like me are always looking for parts to fix their car and the older members are always looking to sell, so it kinda works out. Maybe i just feel this way because i cant look at them yet. But it would be nice to bump it down to 25.

Re: Classified Rule Change Vote
I voted to change it, I think maybe keep it at 50 post's to sell something, but I think people should be able to see what people have for sale. I just joined and i have like 22 posts and I really need to see if people have things up for sale that I need to finish my project. Thats just what I think!

The rules have already been set, I think. And at first I was a bit wary to hear the opinion of a n00b, however, this makes sense. To me, it seems a bit unfair that the n00bs can't even see the classified. I deffinately agree that they should not be able to post there until 50 posts, but ya know, hey, maybe Joe Shmo needs a Walbro 255 at a decent price and some one happens to have one for sale for a decent price, well poor old Joe Shmo can't even PM the guy to talk to him about it, because he can't see the thread to know it even exists! But I deffinately agree that we don't need the thread cluttered up with the mindless bullshit rambling n00bs [and sometimes non-n00bs] like to contribute to the classifieds.

Re: Classified Rule Change Vote
I'm new here but i also agree with the above statement, it seems very reasonable to atleast be able to see/post in to buy something. Just keep it 50 post to sell something. Tht way people who joined to be part of a community and buy parts to mod/fix their car can get it done which would also open up new oppertunitys to seller also.

Well I would say you should have 50 posts to post up and buy something. But you should still be able to see the threads. That way you can PM someone and get details, without cluttering up the thread.

Re: Classified Rule Change Vote
Well I guess let the majority vote win. If thats what people want, give it to em. Its not like its that big of a deal, life or death. Its a forum, I understand that you don't want threads cluttering up but its not like it would be THAT big of a deal. Who cares, why don't we all be whinny little bratt babies, a forum is here to post and help people out and be a community SO LET IT HAPPEN. Simple as that. There will always be ups and downs wether you can't post untill you hit 50 post or not, why not free it up a little and give everyone more oppertunitys, to fix their own car and help someone else fix their car. Just Cause some people have been here forever or just long enough doesn't make them better people sellers/buyers.

Yes it does. Generally I don't even bother attempting to do business with the newbies around here because it's like pulling teeth to complete a transaction with some level of professionalism.

Re: Classified Rule Change Vote
I didn't realize you had to be a pro to sell or buy something. Get off it, selling or buying is the same wether you been here or not. But i guess your way better than everyone since you have 4,000 post huh, wow. Anyways how do you thing people get better and at the whole buying selling thing, not by waiting 50 post its by doing it.

Re: Classified Rule Change Vote
The forum is not here as a free for sale/wanted section. Its here for the community of people that enjoy cars.. if your only here for selling/buying then look elsewhere. If you actually want to contribute to this forum then you should be willing to wait until you hit 50 posts.. its not that hard.
And yes being a regular member and showing that you are active on the forum other than just to hit 50 posts to buy/sell, actually lets people know that you are more trustworthy to deal with. Members are not looking to get scammed by a n00b.
Also unless you talked to owner of the site, you cant advertise like you are doing in your sig.

I can tell. I think I just looked over the last 20 of your posts and they contribute nadda! zip! zero! zilch!
Just a bunch of quick "welcomes" or 3-4 word sentances.
It's pretyy obvious you are just trying to hit the 50 post count and that's it. It's these case that I like to wait till people are at 49 and then put a negative sign in front of it.
I wonder what would happen if I just ended up moving the classified to the Private side compeletly.
hummmmm.........

You can argue your point as much as you want and 2 things will happen. No one that cares will listen, and nothing will change. Have a nice day.

OWNED!
I honestly like the 50 rule thing, I just wish senior members/shops wouldn't need admin proof-reading to post a for sale/want to by add.
When I want to buy something is usually that same minute, not within the upcoming week. 99% of the time its for a customer car sittining in the shop waiting for THAT part.

Re: Classified Rule Change Vote
3Speed: Clearly we have it set this way for a reason. As it's been said, letting yourself be welcomed into the forums, and making yourself an active members helps us trust you more. And not only that but making intelligent posts. I wouldn't want to buy anything from some one, n00b or not, who can't make a decent post. If you can't form a proper sentence, use decent grammar, and most of all saying something intelligent, then how can I be sure you are even smart enough to sell me something without fucking me over. Now I admitt I am deffinately not the brightest crayon in the box, so it's not that hard to sounds smart talking to me, but you'd be suprised.
And honestly, whether not being a noob makes you better at selling something is totally irrelevant. I would say that over half of the time, noobs don't make good impressions on us. And when you sign onto a forum you are classified as a noob, whether you are new or old to the car game, but we don't know the difference. Not until you prove it to us. Just saying "New to the forums but not new to cars" doesn't prove anything to us. The more you post intelligently, the more we believe you, and in time, trust you to sell us something!

You know you can honestly do what you want! If you seriously want to be a dick like that you can. I just want my car done and with classifieds I could do it alot quicker!

Re: Classified Rule Change Vote
TJ this is nothing to get touchy over. And I think you may want to re-think how you talk to the mods. It's completely understandable how you feel, but you have to understand why we want things to run smoothely, and this is how the mods chose to go about it.
