Once again, no start.

I went out to my car to go to work this morning, got in, turned the key to the ON position, let it sit for a second, and everything was fine. As soon as I turned it to START and the starter engaged, everything went dead. This same thing happened once before a few weeks ago, but everything came back on right away. Anyone know what might have happened? Is there a main ignition relay or fuse I should check? I looked around a little bit, but it was really dark and I couldn't really see anything.

Re: Once again, no start.

I said this in the other thread, but just for good measure: This happened to my 1G several times. I ended up having to clean up the connections on the battery terminal REALLY good. Both the battery terminals themselves, and the wiring that hooked onto them. Mine happened a few times while driving or while I was out and about though, and I had to just wiggle the connection back and forth on the terminal a bit for everything to start working again.

I also had the same problem Scheides had, it was intermitent. Cleaned the terminals well and that solved it. The other problem I had was the caps in the ECU but you did that I think.

Re: Once again, no start.

Got it figured out. The power wire for my amp has a weird terminal and there was just a bad connection there.

Re: Once again, no start.

Believe me. There were some choice words said. It just pissed me off cuz the battery was the first thing I checked.

Re: Once again, no start.

This is why I have 2 DSMs, when one breaks, there is a back up to drive... or for parts
