Re: Porky's and KK this week
i will more than likely be able to make it up to KK, once again pending no rain.. i left early last night, because driving a spyder in the rain is no fun.

Much like on my car...the top goes up. I can also guarantee your tires are better in the wet than mine are
Applebees was a good time and luckily Reid and I were able to make a few strategic n00b trades.
For Thursday, its a maybe whether or not I'll be able to make it, but if I do you can bet on some *edit* hot-lapping action afterwards!

Re: Porky's and KK this week
7pm at the Culvers on 494 and Bass Lake Rd. (County Road 10) in Plymouth (right near the Maple Grove boarder). This is a weekly MNSC meet...I think Matt D. is the only one from this board to go regularly.

Its the best I could do for ya.
Anyways, if I do show up to KK it will probably be near 10 and I'll have dreams of *edit* in my head.

Re: Porky's and KK this week
the s2k, is a great track car, but lacks trq. so it isn't much of a drag car.

Well, the most recent stock S2K puts down 210hp @ 8000 rpm and 146lb-ft @ 6400. A stock 1G puts down 195hp @ 6000 rpm and 203lb-ft @ 3000. The only reason we have more torque is because of when the turbo hits, then it raises fairly well throughout the small rpm range(compared to the S2K). And VTEC Hondas keep making power to redline, DSM's usually don't.
Just about any day of the week a stock S2K wouldn't have much a problem with walking away from a stock 1G, especially on the freeway. And the S2K stock runs the 1/4 in about 14.4. You would need to open up the factory restrictions on a DSM to get that, then of course if you added the minor bolt ons it would be a whole different game. For a NA four cylinder the S2K is as good as it gets, especially being overengineered as it is.
In summary, the S2K isn't just another Honduh, it rocks. Throw a Jackson Racing on there and there you go. Have fun.

There is some decent info in the above post, but also some false info:
1) You're comparing the S2k's WHP/tq to a 1G's factory rated crank HP/tq, not a fair comparison. I doubt a stock 1G puts down anything more than 170 at the wheels.
2) It would take a pretty bad driver to not get anything better than a 14.4, even most magazines get low 14's with owners pulling high 13's.
3) Jackson doesn't make a supercharger kit for the S2k, only Comptech and Vortech currently are making mass-production kits.
