Shane/Danny have that effect on people, especially now with those pretty Grimmspeed manifolds, and other goodies on the shelves everywhere you look.

Re: '03 BBY Evo
Got the cams installed this past weekend along with doing the 60k maintenance on the car. Again huge thanks to Shane at DB Performance for all the tips when installing the cams, a great deal on the cams, the great tune, and making time for before and after pulls.
On to the graphs: You can see it made a bit more power and held it a lot better up top. Less boost and a more conservative tune as well.

Wootski! LOL @ 30-35whp gains for the entire top-end being 'a bit' to you
Seriously though, said it before and I'll say it again, this is a fantastic power level to rock a DD evo at. Now just enjoy and have fun with it!

x2...in my opinion its all downhill after stock turbo e85 land, great setup. Bigger setups do have their perks though.
Regardless, great power!

Lookin good man!
BTW I have a can of night shades if you need some more. It's still nearly full as I only used it to slighty smoke some corner lights on the Envoy. If ya wanna use some, feel free, all I ask is you don't use the entire can

Re: '03 BBY Evo
Kick ass numbers dude!
If you were still looking for a 3rd gauge for your pod thingy I saw something from Diiirk@AwdMotorsports yesterday about being able to log oil pressure with the AEM gauge through the stock ECU, that might be pretty slick

Re: '03 BBY Evo
Thanks for the compliments fellas!
I know I should be happy and just drive it but if I find a good deal on a manifold to bolt up my old dsm turbo it'll pretty much be a done deal. haha

Thanks dude but after a while I think the side markers looks dark enough for me. I appreciate the offer though!

Yea still looking for a 3rd gauge. Got a linkzors? That would be pretty swet to be able to log oil pressure. Still need to wire up my wideband and map sensor to log though too!

Re: '03 BBY Evo
Hope this helps, it was in a thread about logging with the AEM wideband. You might have to get a hold of him to figure out how to do it, who knows there may be 10 threads explaining how to do it, but this is what I saw:

Re: '03 BBY Evo
Got the thing lowered on some tanabe springs with MR struts this weekend. Ride feels smoother than stock and looks great too.
Also got my parts to install the nitrous but still can't figure out how to wire it up like my dsm. Any of the evo tuning guru's know how to configure the ecu to turn on an output above a certain RPM and above a certain mph? More so just the RPM as i would wire it up to a main power switch.
Also got an STM egr block off plate so I'll get around to installing that and delete all that egr garbage one of these days.

Re: '03 BBY Evo
Stock ecu as of now only has input triggers, not output triggers. I bet you could wire together a pretty simple circuit that would take voltage from the CAS and speedo and output 5v when both are above a certain voltage pretty easily. I bet shane or my buddy Jordan Price could whip it out w/o too much trouble once you figured out the trigger values you want (get them from the logger).
New ride height looks great, just in time for pot-hole season!

I guess I used the wrong terminology maybe? On the dsmlink I wired it up with a relay, a power switch, and to the FPR on the ecu. DSMLink had the option to set the FPR up so that above a certain RPM, above a certain MPH, above certain throttle position, and below certain knock it would trigger the "output" which if memory serves was a ground. So for example above 5k, above 97% throttle, above 50mph and below 1 count of knock it would complete the circuit. However the solenoids would only have power once the master power switch was manually switched inside the car.
I can figure out the wiring up the solenoids and all that fun stuff no problem. I just don't know how to set up something like the FPR controll in the evo ecu. I bought a 1.3u cable the other day and downloaded EvoScan and ECUFlash so I can log/flash if I really knew what I was doing. I've also spend hours trying to figure out how to set up a switch like the FPR was setup like on DSMLink but the closest thing I found was something with the intercooler sprayer. Any advice or links to reading would be appreciated!

Re: '03 BBY Evo
You used the right terminology, and again I'm pretty sure there's only inputs used (to switch maps or read different sensors) and not any outputs available.
How are you liking the new power level with the cams and re-tune?

Re: '03 BBY Evo
Ohhh I gotcha, thanks for the input!
I'm really liking the car the more I drive it. It's nice to have a little bit of power and all the nice features that my dsm didn't have. A big part of me misses the raw power of my old car but its nice having a super reliable car.

Re: '03 BBY Evo
Went to cars and cafe this morning and all was well. Had a nice clean car and got to do my first real test and compare after leaving. Well on the way home my car started to make a funny noise at a light and then died while driving normally. Pulled over tore off the top timing cover to see a loose timing belt Then pull the valve cover while waiting for the tow truck to come and see all the exhaust rockers were out of place and pulled the plugs to see some not so good news. Once it was home and I had some lunch I started ripping the head off...
Some pretty intense carnage below, not 100% what happened yet. It has had 3k miles and about 3 weeks since I did the timing belt/cams and it made no strange noise during that time or anything that would make me think something is up. Also checked that the pin can still go into the tensioner after spinning the motor over and letting it sit for 20 minutes multiple times just to be sure. Now I'm kind of SOL
Onto the pictures

Is that a hole?! haha

Re: '03 BBY Evo
Holy shit, how did the valves brake off like that? looks like the belt is still intact. Something most have slipped in the timing.
