Who cares what everyone else says. Just go for the goal, that will be awesome when you get there. But i suggest getting a 6 bolt.

fyi... I plan to buy scheides's setup and keep the boost low until everything else is beefed up and can handle the full boost.

I know I know what you guys are going to say ..... the itch to up that boost .... I got pretty good self control since I've seen my fair share of other peoples blown setups.
Best of luck....

Mods, get ready to approve a rolling chassis in the classifieds.

lol ... very funny... NOT!

It's called self control and not upping the boost when everything else can't handle the power yet.

Sure self control until you find out how laggy a big turbo is at low boost. Oh by the way the real weakness in our cars when you get up in high horse power is the transfer case(everything can be beefed up but the transfer case). The best thing to do is to set up a quarter mile time(no not 10sec or faster). That is alot easier to accomplish than 600HP in a DSM. You can tell people you have a 600HP car and than you must back up your mouth. If you run 11sec and have a time slip to prove it than no one is going to question you. Vassil has a good setup and runs consistant 11 sec quarter miles. If you think a 14b is weak. You should ask SlowV. He got some respect from some of the 2G owners and RSX guys in the Twin City area. I know for a fact his 14b power car will walk your DSM right now and he is on a stock turbo. Also 600HP and Daily Driver don't go together. I not trying to be an arse hole but I see people like you come and go with broken dreams. I have a fully built 1G sitting on jack stands in my garage with over 6K invested and I am only aiming at 400 HP. Last note 600HP cars are not that easy to launch. I don't care if you have AWD.

Says the n00b who is getting shit on by all the old members, I got a feeling you are gonna be the first one to go man. Just listen to niterydr, he knows how to build a high hp car, and he did it with 1 more turbo and some more displacement, if it was as easy and cheap as you seem to think it is, he would be making 1200hp on pump and be running 6's or something.

Hell yes, I think he should just listen to all of us. I thought he would gotten the hint when allot of people on the board are telling him he needs to get realistic with his goals. But I guess not.

Re: hi dsmtuners! Care to help me?

By all means, go for your goal, but what me and all of the old members are saying is that, dont be disappointed when you hate your car because you were moving too fast with a daily driven budget build.
you used to own a honduh didnt you?
Simply take a look at the amount of posts that the members that are telling you to set reasonable goals have, i know it wont mean much to you, but 2000+ posts is not an easy accomplisment and you have to have gained some amount of knowledge to have lasted this long. Set a reasonable goal (not 600+hp) and shoot for it.

If I have to post it again I'll move for you to get a ban.

The best thing to do is work your way outside in. Start with the drivetrain, suspension, brakes, then motor, then fuel, then turbo/intercooler setup.

Somebody kill this thread. It's worthless and repetive. Anything useful seems to have been said.

Perhaps the original poster can open a new thread if he has something more specific to ask.

Re: hi dsmtuners! Care to help me?

It's not this hard to understand.

Start with a well built short block assembly. Roughly anybody's stage 2 or stage 3 shortblock will do. Burschur has some good pricing on theirs. If you want to build your own just follow their recipe. I'm partial to the 2.4L for a DD or street car, but that's just me.

Add a well built and ported 1g cylinder head. Add a good set of higher level cams (HKS 272/272 or 280/280, FP2's or FP3's).

Bolt on a good intake & exhaust manifold.

Build a fuel system that will flow what a pair of Walbro 255hp's will do or better. 1000cc injectors.

3 to 4 inch exhaust all the way out.

Biggest and best intercooler and pipes you can fit in there (air-to-air or water-to-air) or run methanol injection.

A turbo that will flow 75 lb/min of air flow (FP3575, T67, etc.) with a good exhaust side and be prepared to go over 30spi. You could go smaller on the turbo, but you have to supplement it with nitrous to make up the power difference. 600whp will require 700+ at the crank.

AEM EMS or DSMLink in the hands of somebody who knows how to tune (if that's you, more power to ya).

Re: hi dsmtuners! Care to help me?

First you should get rides in cars that are 300, 400, 500, and 600 Dyno proven AWHP respectively.

Make your choice, photocopy what they did.

Make sure you want what you ask for, because a 300awhp dsm is more fun then 99.5% of america will ever experience, and honestly is "good enough".

It is unfair of you to ask such an open-ended question, this is why you are getting such "interesting" replys. Tell us what you think, tell us what you want to buy, we would love to help, we want to help, but its hard to do when the thread is full of open-ended questions and flames.

Re: hi dsmtuners! Care to help me?

Get DSMlink, build the engine, get the FMIC, exhaust, etc. Last thing you should get is the turbo and injectors. Then wait for your clutch to fry and get a bigger one if it hasn't already at that point.

Then if you make some decent power/torque then 4th gear breaks over and over again.
