Bah, not the way things are going. Can't get the car to idle. I need a 2G MAS to do some testing.

Same thing I'm working on today, lack of a good idle has been kicking my ass.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
I never have a problem with my idle and I do not use a isc. What is happening causing the idle to be erratic? Timing or fuel? The only problem I have is when ait sensor heat soakes, but I have just dealt with it for now.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
I'm figuring it out, but the car is running crazy lean even with lowering global to -37% it is still in the 15AFR range and not running smooth.
I picked up a couple of 2G MAS and posted a log on the link forums. Hopefully tomorrow I'll test out the other MAS and pray that is my issue.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
I ohm'd out the 1G connector to the ECU and all wires were 0.7 to 1.0 ohms, apart from the MPI control relay that goes to MPI relay pin 7 that came to 144.5 ohms.
I tested my "jumper" harness and that ohm'd out fine 0.7ish it's about 6" long and I have had it for 4 years.

I tried out a local's ECU and still the same thing, I tried my ECU in his car and he said it was acting normal.
Big thanks to Steve Hill/Goodbye always helping me out.

Thanks to Wade I was able to figure out 100% my cable was bad.
Oh on a side note, my new DSMLink cable works like it should.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
So it was just the link cable? Either way, glad you got it figured out!

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
No, my link cable was on it's way out too, but I got that part replaced.
I still have to figure this issue of basically no fuel.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
Have a fuel pressure guage on it? FPR not adjusting for boost?

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
I think he's having it at idle, so I don't know if the FPR is a concern. It might be something to check to see if the pump is dropping off for some reason though, he's got a fuel pressure gauge.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
FPR is good, fuel pressure is good.
It seems to be MAS related. But I am going to try a new stock O2 sensor today it doesn't cycle as fast as I like to see but I don't know if it's the cause or the result of something.

No, looking for a house so I'm giving up on this for the most part.
It's just annoying, since no-one can figure it out.
