 Can't argue with that.

What is a box with a red x going to do for you?

Re: Evo X upgrades
I saw scheide's LED work light while at his house on Sunday. Fell in love with that! No more broken incandescent bulbs. I also have to be able to pack all of my tools into a box that I can carry so this is a much better solution.

Re: Evo X upgrades
I like the look of those wings, but would never spend the money on one...too many other things to buy.
And lomker is right...the X wing is gigantic stock anyway.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Dave's thread with his new rims has me itching to get mine on. As soon as the car is back I'll be ordering the Star Spec 275/35/18's just like he did.
This is a repost from earlier in my thread but I want to salivate for a minute. Notice how small the stock wing is? Can barely see out the back window, honestly. The biggest problem is how thick the damn thing is. I'm betting the APR wing will be a lot narrower since it's carbon with aluminum supports.

Re: Evo X upgrades
A local guy down here has a carbon fiber replica of the stock SSS wing and it looks great.

I bet it'd look good on a black car but I didn't like the pics I saw of one on red.

Its on a white car actually with a few other CF accents (front lip, front bumper trim, hood scoops/vents, fender vents, etc.) and its really sharp looking. Its a 2010 from Southcoast; he either bought it like that or put all the stuff on ASAP since it's still on the temp dealer tags.

I've heard good things about Southcoast. It might pay to buy one there and have it shipped out.

Re: Evo X upgrades
If nothing else they're a good bargaining chip when negotiating a deal from a local dealership. I've heard of quite a few dealers matching SouthCoast's price + $500 to offset what would be the cost of transportation.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Scroth Rallye 4 harnesses? Seems like a reasonable compromise for someone that is only planning on HPDE and auto-x.
I really liked Trevor's harness bar but these should accomplish the same thing...they both use the stock, proven seat belt anchor points.

Re: Evo X upgrades
We have a team tech harness in the blue viper. They are nice, but I am guessing you wouldn't have a good mounting location for them. They are easy to install/remove in the viper.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Quite a few magazine articles about aero this month. There's more to life than the 1/4 mile, although you'd wonder at times if you read the forums.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Are you trying to justify that wing of yours? There are plenty of areas of each forum that are dedicated to turning the wheel if you look for them. Are the stock X wings functional? The 8/9 wing creates 200 lbs. of downforce at ~100mph.

No, I always intended to put a carbon wing on the car--you can see pics that I posted of the Varis car many pages back in this thread.
I'm struggling with the front-end more than the rear. I already have factory Aero so I figured I'd add the APR splitter. The problem is that splitters cause some convenience problems (having to pull the bumper to dyno and hindering access in general under the car). I think I'll just have to wait until I have the car back and eyeball & measure things. It's tough to visualize without having the car.

Re: Evo X upgrades
