Re: Neon? Srt-4? DONE FOR?
I understand what you are saying about how damn ugly cars are getting... XB?! That vehicle makes me think who ever designs cars for Scion was really LAZY... I think 1g's are not the ugliest car around, but deffinately not the nicest. However, I have seen a lot of really nice 1g's.. That's just my own personal opinion.
But I do think this vehicle is extremely ugly. It looks like they took the durango, shifted some shit around, thru in some horse power, and called it a day.

The only vehicle designed by Scion is the TC. The others are vehicles that were already being used in Japan under the Toyota badge. And since Scion is owned by Toyota, they just used the already existing design. I personally don't mind them at all. Maybe it's because I lived in Japan for a year and those kinda vehicles are what 90% of the island drove, so they just grew on me.
Anyhow, ya that Dodge think is ugly!

Re: Neon? Srt-4? DONE FOR?
I don't like the XB's.. Like I said, they make me think the designer was lazy... But to each their own, and I never knew that.. Though it makes sense.
Personally, I really like SRT-4's. In the beginning of the thread [I may have misread] it seemed like a few of you were hating on them a little bit, but they are really nice. Especially Alec's. Well maybe that has something to do with the fact that he waxes it like every other or something. But it's quick, and it sounds nice, and I think they look good. Especially with Eye Lids. The concept of the SRT-4 is interesting to me, as well as the STi and EVO's... A basic "grocery-getter"... and all of the sudden, its quick! And people want them! However, I wouldn't be going out and spending$20-30k on one. But I do like them.

I didn't know STi's and Evo's were considered "grocery-getters." Only reason I see that could be said is that they have four doors.

Impreza... Lancer.. base models of each car. Both of which I see mom's haulin' around their kids. They are the nicer of the grocer-getters, but I know a lot of people joke of them that way. It's my opinion, but I've heard other people say that to.

You must have meant under $20k, until they raised the MSRP the 2nd year in production

How do we have a neon leg humper on this site?
That new car is a P.O.S. Don't ever think that anything new could be cool. Car companys are dumb as hell and Americans keep buying their retarded shit. It just gets worse each year.

Re: Neon? Srt-4? DONE FOR?
^^ which doesn't really matter in the end, since sales is what they are after, right?
I don't think it looks very good either, but it is going in the direction that dodge seems to be leaning when it comes to their future image. Slightly more european/refined - and the caliber seems to fill that role well. At least, it does compared to the neon.
And Tauni, wouldn't it be a Durango with some horsepower taken out?

Re: Neon? Srt-4? DONE FOR?
Actually, the Neon ACR's were very competent autocrossers/roadracers
But neons are still wrong wheel drive econobox's that fall apart.
YAY to the demise of cheap CARS.

Re: Neon? Srt-4? DONE FOR?
XB = Toaster. Just think about that next time you see one.
As for the Neon replacement thing, I think it will just be another Neon, except it won't say Neon. Cheap Econo car with a 235HP motor in it, and some other stuff changed to hold up to the power. A true sports car? No. Fast? Possibly, depends on how heavy it ends up being.
As for the 2G VS 1G thing, I say they're both ugly. GVR4 for life.

I read an article in sport compact car where they tore down an SRT4s engine. It was impressive!

Dodge did a great job overbuilding that car...engine, drivetrain, everything. They had to though, still offering a 7/70 powertrain warranty even with the no-lift-to-shift upgrade stage!

I am really impressed with dodge on that one. If they came in anything but FWD I would probably own one right now.
