Re: RKC Weekly meets
Well I will put my $.02 in and not care what others say about this after.
Yes it does take a dollar to get your car into the meet... Do I agree with it 100%, No but it does go for a good cause. It does take time and money to run something that large. Just an example when was the last time you went to a hardware store and bought 300 feet of extension cord. it isn't cheap, or a generator to power the little light that is there.
As for racing. No there isn't any racing that goes on around the meet for one reason, and one reason only if it gets busted it will go back to the meet and shut it down. Then there would be no meet at all.

Seems like a good reason to charge a buck. maybe weed out some of the garbage. Oh and thanks for classifying me as a "collar popping flatbill Monster hat wearing douch bags" lol
But yeah I have been with the RKC crew for 5 years now back when the meets where out in maple grove, and it isn't the same. Some for the good, and some for the not so good.

Don't get me wrong, bud. Your GSX is one of the few cars their that I like to look at. Plus, you seem to be a decent guy. I'm just pointing out the fact that 2/3 of the people in attendance were flat billed douche-tards. This was also back when the meets were held out at MAP. They are too clicky, and my friends and I did NOT feel welcome.
Hell, my friend who drives a Lumina was told he couldn't park in the show lot. He has a 3.4 top end swap, exhaust and intake, LTZ interior, and a Monte Body swap. He has put a lot of work into his car, and to be told he can't park in the meet lot was bullshit because the dude running the gate didn't think a "base" Lumina was worthy of the RKC throne.
Again, I'm not too up to date on the politics of RKC, they might have changed. They might be more open to letting specific cars in the lot, IDK. But the way we were treated was bullshit. Heck, convince me that Troy and the gang have changed, and I might make an appearance.

You're mad that a Lumina wasn't let into a meet? In no way will I ever defend RK but that's ridiculous. Who cares if it's a base model, LTZ, or even had a 350 in it. If it's not tubbed out and has something with power, it's still just a Lumina. Kinda like a Neon is a Neon if it's not an SRT4.... But even those are still junky Neons.
If you're that mad over a Lumina, I wonder how you'd feel if the regional leader tried racing you, crashed into you and sent you and your fiance into the wall.

they let a cougar in that had a fart can sticking out way past the bumper... but my jetta was not allowed because of the front valance was missing......

There is nothing mature, smart or educated about liking a lumina.

He is only saying that because he didn't get in, and probably why he is upset.

Re: RKC Weekly meets
I went to wagners last night! god I missed there food, then drove by the meet and waved on my way out, I wont be attending them because all I hear is how much they suck, and I can go to the wed sonic meet for free and see pretty much the same cars. I would be up for a Monday meet at wagners but keep in mind its also classic car night so its filled with old people.

I'm working nights next week, oh wait not next monday!!
Joel, sorry but 90% of that crowd isn't worth anything but racing and even then its only about 20% of those have cars that are worth racing.

Re: RKC Weekly meets
You guys just need to get bikes. They didn't ask me and Paul for any monies and I had $1 in pennies and coupons for a buffet
There was a pretty sweet viper there and a couple other nice cars but a lot of rice was at a ricekiller meet.

Re: RKC Weekly meets
Ugg I don't know if I am just getting old or what, but car meets no longer excite me. It's all the same old, "what are your mods" chit-chat that we've all been though a few hundred times. I want to race. I want to hang out with people that are on the track and have drive and commitment. People who use telemetry data, tuning, and team experiences with collective knowledge to share their passion though achievement.
I go to these meets, any meet, and it just is not enough any more. I know any worthwhile endeavor begins with passion. But if you already have the passion, throw your hat in the ring and work towards greater goals than throwing a bunch of parts at a car that is little more than a conversational piece at a social club.

Completely agree. That's why I enjoy our meets which are usually just friends hanging out over some food and beverages, not pure just standing around staring at cars. That gets real boring real fast.

Same here, thats why we usually get a few people together and just go grab a beer and food and talk about other stuff too. 100% car talk is 200% boring.
