Re: Real world evoX pics
Wow some haters here! I like the look, but I will forever be nostalgic of the classic not-so-mean sleeper look of years past. I like it though, if it handles anywhere near the existing one and responds to mods in a similar fashion, I'll be happy.
The DSG is going to be amazing. If not, the whole car will suffer. Anna's VW Jetta GLI has a DSG tranny in it, and it is the coolest thing since sliced bread. It is actually nothing like Ferrari's F1 tranny in the 355's and 360's. It has two *concentric* clutches, and uses hydraulic pressure to hold one in place until it engages the other. It is also effectively two 3-speed transmissions mounted opposite of each other. When one is in one gear, the electronics engage either the gear above or below it. When the shift occurs, one clutch disengages as the other engages. Shifting on Ferrari's F1 cars takes over .10 seconds. VW's shifts in .04 seconds.
Beyond that, it makes day-to-day driving a breeze, shifting from 'fun mode' to cruizing is absolutly sooooo nice. Smooth as hell.

Re: Real world evoX pics
Current Formula 1 cars shift in about 50 ms. Ferrari production street cars shift in 100 ms. That equates to .05 seconds and .10 seconds.

Re: Real world evoX pics
I've always like the look of the new Lexus IS250, Mazda 6 and the Acura TL. I just wished that Mitsu would make a car look that good. And viola, now they have. I think the EVO X will be a huge hit. The new tranny and motor have a lot of promise too. I sure hope they put cruise control in it.
I might be one of the first in line to buy an EVO X. So for those looking for a mint condition 97 GSX, they may be one for sale later this year.
later,
Curt

Yes, cruise is already verified! Not to mention navigation, nice sound system, etc. Hopefully we start seeing more information about it soon.

If you add all around interior comfort you'll hit why I don't have an EVO right now.
Depending on what I see when this new X finally comes to life, well that could change everything.

Re: Real world evoX pics
Actually Jana would probably be looking at a Mazda 3 type of car. Something that size, with 30ish for gas mileage.

Re: Real world evoX pics
Th regular new lancers rolling around looks clean already, so the X should make a bigger impression in person.

Re: Real world evoX pics
I didn't notice it till the video, but I really like how buldged out the 1/4 panels are. It makes it look really muscular.

Re: Real world evoX pics
HAHAHA!
I was hoping to have a serious look into getting a X and trading in the 6 next summer. But I would really have to be impressing with the inside conforts and drive (assuming they even let people fuck'n test drive them). The look of the front end the way it's shown now just rubs me the wrong way as well.
