Yea, really. You've come a LONG way over this year..who knew! You fucking flipped/trashed/totalled a car (I saw it again 2 days ago) and already not only bought a new one, but raced, autox'd, dragged, and modded it! PROPS!

I'll be doing some 1/8th mile for sure, and if I get the time down that I want I'm going to try and run a 10.X at either BIR or Rock falls in September.

Haha, I was thinking about a build thread. But heh, I'll attempt to stay modest.

Don't know on the ETA, rumor has it I'll be able to hit the drags by the 28th (last chance to hit the 1/8th before the 1/4 in september). DB is boss, they'll handle it.

I just found a lapping day at Road America Oct 16,17. My only problem is that I bought a motorcycle helmet instead of an auto helmet and this outfit is pickier about ratings. <sigh>

The September 11/12 looks very attractive.

What days would get us the most runs down the track?

I mean, what day will likely destroy my clutch in short order..

Test days will get you the most runs by far, but they cost more. You will get a decent amount on the sport compact days too, but the traction will be the worst. The bracket race days will have better traction, but the most cars and a lot of time will be for bracket racing. The Fun Days are usually in between the bracket days and sport compact days as far as number of cars and traction.

Anyone else wanna rally around Sept 11th? We could pay our respects to those fallen and the twin towers by doing what we love most: playing with cars! $69 is a lot but I'd love to get a couple runs with this clutch and the new turbo. maybe I can gun for a 13.0?

I may go but who knows, that's at the end of the week that I will be getting back from SCCA Solo Nats in Lincoln on top of 3 other out of town trips within 2 weeks time.

This thread is about bench racer's league, actually get off the bench and get some numbers down. Let's talk about us actually going racing though instead of what we might do once we get there, you can run 17's for all I care!

All you need to know what to do at the drag strip is: Don't try to stage with the back tires or people will laugh at your and reaction time doesn't matter at all unless you are in a heads up race. The guy next to you probably isn't trying to race you also, so don't worry about him unless you are in eliminations.

Your launch and 1-2 shift are 80% of your race, if you screw either of those up there is no way to save the ET after that, so don't try to force it.
