I work at a bank. What's your debt to income ratio? Add up all your monthly bills and then add up your income. How much are you willing to put down on the car? Walking into a bank and asking for a loan for the asking price of the car won't always work. How long have you had your job? How long have you lived at your current residents? Do you own/rent, etc? What do you have for security that the bank could use for collateral? Try another bank if you have to but the above will most likely apply there as well.
