The whole premiss behind Liberalism is the belief that man can't take care of himself. And this is only exasperted by high taxation on the working class to pay for liberal policies and programs that if the working class could keep more of the money they earn, they could afford all the things they need without a government program which is nothing but back door control and economic slavery, with a happy sounding label on it.

You have no idea what the premise behind liberalism is. Its not the belief that a man cant take care of himself. Its the belief that there needs to be programs to help those in need, and that we are all human and we are in this together. A healthier country is a stronger country.
High taxation is a speaking point of the republican party yet taxes are lower than 20 - 30 years ago. 30 years ago, good luck finding home loans under 30%, and income taxes on the wealthy were up near 50%.
Im sorry but without government programs, and the spending we as a country do, you can say goodbye to roads, schools, hospitals, the military, and a crap load of other programs taxes pay for.
Yes there is a decent amount of the budget (about 13%) that is spent on safety net programs, but where would our economy have been in 2008-2012 without these programs. Families put out on the street with no hope of regaining their house, or livelihood.
How about the government stops subsidizing companies and creating a corporate welfare program, Let them fail, but no, every time a business fails the republicans scream.
