Re: Voided warranty?

What about aftermarket warranties? I had a 2004 Silverado SS that the dealer installed a magnus supercharger, wheels tires, exhaust, intake, and tune and the entire thing was covered under full warranty.

Re: Voided warranty?

It was a good read. My problem with manufactures and there warranty voiding is the utter randomness of it all. These regional managers that make the decisions on what to void have no consistency. And you still hear about the occasional person who gets a warranty completely voided and then can't get a power window fixed.

I think most people get the points that the author of that article makes. But I think there are bigger issues than what he is pointing out.

later,
Curt

Might want to read that fine print. I purchased an aftermarket warranty when I bought my car, and when I got all of the warranty company's documentation in the mail a month later, the booklet specifically stated that they will not cover anything related to non-factory modifications. So about that intake that was on the car when I bought it, and the Walbro they missed in the tank? Technically that warranty was void the second I signed the paperwork. When I found that out I called and cancelled it, got all my money back.

Re: Voided warranty?

Aftermarket warranties or extended dealership warranties are worthless anyways. I paid extra for one of those when I bought the WRX, then when it came time for them to fix anything, it was magically "not covered" under the warranty even though it was suppsed to be a full powertrain warranty. Even when all it had was the warranty safe spt catback they still refused me.

I disagree. Both times i have bought an extended warrantee it has paid over what it cost.
My first extended warrantee expirence came with my 99 GSX i got.
Items Replaced under warrantee:
3x T25 turbos (first one went and was replaced, Second one was replaced after the bitch crankwalked, third one i sold to go bigger)
Short block (Crankwalked)
Cost of the warrantee was $2100, cost of the repairs was something like $6000+

Second time was on my Ford Truck, which i got the transmission replaced on and basically paid for the plan.

On the Lancer we have the mitsu 60k one and we dont plan on modding so if anything goes wrong its covered.

Re: Voided warranty?

Cocksuckers wouldn't replace a coil pack in the WRX. Even when it was stock! And that warranty was through Subaru too.
