Apparently it was down on power and stuck in 4th gear or someshit. I don't know, it really seemed to depend on who was driving it. It didn't pass me all weekend, but it did pass Shawn in the rain on Sunday. It was not a contender though.
haha, karma sucks

Actually it was better then that, the bmw passed me on a yellow in the grass, then next lap went off the track right in front of me, cant say I felt bad for him.

I was very fast at BIR last year when it rained late in the day on Sunday compared to the other cars, so they wanted me to go out first on Sunday at Road America since it was raining. The only car that was faster than us early on was the #66 Integra because they were running snow tires, but that is a story for another day. When I got out of the car we were in 2nd, and were in the top 3 all day. The last hour and a half of the race we were neck and neck with the yellow Impreza. Dustin was driving and he said they were passing each other 2 to 3 times a lap over the last hour. Then seeing him come out from behind the Impreza just as they came over the crest at the start/finish line was amazing. 7 hours of racing only to be bumper to bumper with the car ahead of you at the end is just crazy.
Man that sounds like a crazy good time!
Looking forward to the photos.

Yea, most of the time it looked quick but on Sat when I was on the track I passed it. If they fix the trans, it will probably dominate the track. It looks like crap with all the body panels removed, not sure you can call it a "car" versus some tubes and sheetmetal around a V8.
We have some handling and braking issues to work through on our car, but it was solid otherwise. I figured out more of the track on Sunday than on Saturday once I had a chance to just take it slow not worry about running good times and there were less cars on the track, not that it was crowded at all on Saturday. I am not sure yet if we can go a full 2 hour driver session without running out of gas though in the dry, our gas mileage was much better on Sunday in rain since we weren't going all out and trying to push the car.

We couldn't even make it an hour and 30 minutes on fuel on Saturday, had to back out the screw on our home made adjustable FPR a little bit and then we were able to go the full two hours safely.
We changed our brake pads overnight and I'm wishing we would have done it before Saturday. The car was already braking awesome, but it completely came to life with new pads. EBC Reds all around.
Will you be going to any other races this year?

The gap between 2nd and 3rd after 7 hours of racing... They were like this for an hour straight, sometimes passing eachother 2 to 3 times a lap. The yellow Impreza team was a class act.

Broken trunk latch? Where did you guys come up with the name "Slugworks" anyways? Do any teams run DSM's?
We turned the truck into a wing, that is why it is up.
14 to 24 hours of full throttle, we went through 55 gallons of gas in about 7 hours with the little Honda that doesn't make much power. Another team brought 3 BMWs, 2 blew engines, 1 had tranny problems. An all motor D16 Honda put a rod through the block within an hour of practice on Friday. Maybe not the best environment for a DSM.
