I recently called Edina PD to report help needed for two stranded motorists along northbound 100, near the old high school. The motorists were sitting on the curb, with their car parked along the shoulder.
Less than a 1/2 mile down the road, also on NB 100, was an Edina cop pulled way up onto the right shoulder, hiding behind a bridge overpass, with his radar out.
In reply to my call, Edina PD said they'd relay the help request to the Minnesota State Patrol, since 100 is a State Hwy...even though one of their own officers was literally just down the road...and even though State Patrol coverage can get spread pretty thin.
An unfortunate response, as stranded vehicles are a potential traffic hazard, and the sooner the better for response. It seems Edina PD are all too happy to look at a state highway as a revenue resource, but much less interested in assisting with safety along the same roadway.

I really think any police cars that say, "To Protect And Serve" on them need to take that shit off, because that is not their main mission anymore, it hasn't been for quite some time.
