They say it is for heat, weight, and to prevent warping due to how the ring 'floats' against the aluminum hub. The RB website is a lot more educational than Girodisc.

Not planning to upgrade the calipers--this is just rotors, pads, and stainless lines. The "big brake" kits start at $3k. That'd make sense if you were actually a racer but this is just for playing at the tracks.

Not really even then. The stock calipers are fine for the vast majority of track cars.

I'd imagine so since you could step up to race-only pads.
