Pointless scenario: You bring your keys and everything with you on a trip to California, the wife needs to get her laptop out of your car (forgot about it) so she calls you. BAM! You unlock the trunk while on the phone with her.

Other scenario: You're on the other side of the country and playing with your phone. Accidentally hit the trunk button, and nobody is there to close it for you. So you lose your laptop and nice carputer.

Another Scenario: You lock your keys in your car. Instead of waiting for someone to bring a spare you can just open if from your phone.

I would consider buying it if my winter car was worth it.
