A new turbocharger raises torque from 273lb.-ft to 295, while horsepower is estimated at 285, although a good portion of the quicker acceleration is thanks to a new 6-speed manual. An aluminum roof and lighter BBs wheels contribute to a 300-lb. weight loss. Revised suspension tuningabd Mitsubishi's ACD (Active Center Differential) give the Evo MR great balance, with no understeer to be found.
