Re: Will my fricken' luck ever change?

Wire it up so that we can switch to a 1G eprom and a 2g maf when you get here. If it was my car, I would keeping putting things back towards stock and keep them stock until the problem is found and then start adding parts back in. If you have 2 possible failed parts then you are screwed and will never figure it out.

It's hard when you have a lot of the common possible problem makers on your car. Here is a list of common troublemaker on DSMs.

1. Boost leaks
2. COP
3. MSD Ignition
4. Relocated Battery
5. Relocated Alternator
6. Wiring harness tucked/modified
7. AEM EMS
8. Shitty plug wires like Magnecor
9. CAS
10. Fuel pump voltage
11. Bad alternator
12. Bent valve/rocker popped off/valves hitting pistons/worn cam
13. Head lifting during boost
14. Bad knock sensor
15. Dipstick blowing out
16. Clogged fuel filter
17. Coolant temp sensor bad or bad wiring to it

Then there is just having the wrong parts for what you are trying to do or the wrong supporting mods. An SCM61 on a car with no suporting mods isn't going to make anymore power than if it had a 16G, it will just be laggier.

Solid list! It has been constantly eliminating problems with this car. I know it had a grounding issue and an alternator that was discharging over 5k when we first started monkeying with it (when MAP was in their old buliding).

It has had 2 or more problems the entire time, just been trying to eliminate them systemactically. I am glad you are in the same boat of start returning it to proven stock parts until the problem surfaces.

Oh Rantking, what great advice thee has given.

Hell thats what we do if this thing wasn't a race car right? get it back to stock slowly and figure out what the problem is.

Swifty said he is ready to go back to stock ignition last night, so hopefully the next time he comes on here it will be in.

B mans car is sick.
