I don't blame them, I personally don't want some middle-eastern Muslim running this country.

Why can't it be a draft just because it was emailed to some people? I have made a ton of procedures and formal documents, I always send them out in draft format to the parties involved to see if there is anything I should change.
Besides, why is it actually bad? He went AGAINST what the republicans wanted, you should be happy Tom!

Tom doesn't care about that, he only cares b/c it gives him something to bitch about and point the blame finger over nothing while attempting to make McCain look bad.

1) His genealogy is not from the Middle East, Africa is not in the Middle East, last time I checked a map.
2) There's no proof he's a Muslim, and I don't appreciate that statement, being a Muslim myself. Just because I'm a Muslim doesn't mean I should be denied or disrespected if I ran for office. Yea, people think Muslims are terrorists, but that's because we've been given a bad name by some inhumane people, who claim to be Muslims. Frankly, a person's religion doesn't make a difference, and shouldn't make a difference as long as they are capable of doing the job and they don't mix their religion into it.

Re: I just want to take a quick poll...
I respect your opinions and comments; but he just has a few too many questionable things surround him for my taste. I have nothing against you, your skin color, or any religion you choose...the once or twice we met I thought you were a cool dude. I'm not denying or disrespecting Obama (or anyone else for that matter) in any way. As in all elections people are free to voice their opinions and choose the person who they feel best represents them, their opinions, morals, and ideals. I prefer it be someone with a strong political and military background to help get us out of the mess we're already in.
We have obviously gotten different info b/c I have heard he has very little "African American" in him and has openly admitted to being Muslim. Anyway, if McCain is to lose, I think I'd rather it be to Obama than Clinton!

WoW, Chris, I have seen that undertone in your comments, but that is just wrong. Like clean2g, I am also a Muslim. I find it VERY weird that somehow in this election people are/can simply say he might be a Muslim and that somehow automatically eliminates him as a candidate. If you believe all Muslims are terrorists, you are blind to the other 1 BILLION Muslims that are normal God fearing people who are very decent human beings. The fact that you and others try to point at his name, and where his father was from as a negative is truly a sad point in American history. Obama was born in HI.. he is an American, that's it. He also happens to be a Christian, so that should be good enough for all the Americans who do not like Muslims.
This election year is very sad to watch from a Muslim point of view. We now all know what people think of us.

Re: I just want to take a quick poll...
If anyone on this board is convinced that I think any less of them because of skin color or religion then so be it, but I can assure you right now that is not the case. I've known you for a long time Mo and think you're a great guy and have nothing at all against you. I'm free to have my opinions and vote for who I want for the reasons I want. This supposed connection with William Ayers (among many other things) is just a little too questionable for my comfort.

Good to hear, thanks for the clarification.
I dropped out of this thread a while ago because these kinds(political) of conversations never go anywhere, but when Religion(my religion) gets thrown out there as a purely negative thing, I have to honestly say it's offensive.
And like all highly political subjects, it's all propaganda.. going both way's.. It's the biggest game in the world, and whatever will work to change peoples minds is what will be spewed as fact.. when in fact it's all taken out of context and misconstrued(again, on both sides of the game).

Re: I just want to take a quick poll...
I agree with you regarding this thread Mo...I should have just stayed out of it b/c they do never go anywhere [good] or accomplish anything other than upsetting people! Politics, religion, and race are already very touchy subjects on their own and when combined like this it just becomes a mess b/c everyone has their own strong opinions and its so easy to take what someone says incorrectly (especially on the internet) which leads to even worse things. With all this said, I'm going to bow out of this thread

Re: I just want to take a quick poll...
I just respond to get Tom all riled up.
I stopped trying long ago, because there's really no point in changing people's minds. I'm not even sure I'm going to vote this year, because really, I don't like either candidate, even though I lean towards one.
The only way to change the economy truly, starts by getting all the corrupt people in charge of the banking system, all corporations, and also the Govt. That will never happen though.

Just because you knew someone does not make you that person. Obamas connection with Ayers is far from best buddies.

Obama agreeing with Bush? NO WAY!
Obama says a McCain administration would be a Bush third term, yet Obama is in agreement with Bush on many areas. Here are 20 of them.

Matt please admit you are a McCain supporter and give up masking yourself behind an independent tag. I have not seen one comment that really puts you in the Independent group or Undecided. You get your news from McCains Political (Lobbyist) advisers.

I'm not even voting for McCain, so saying I support him would not be true. I don't want McCain to be president either, but I don't want Obama in office even more so. No matter where I get news from you Obama supporters will always say it's from some anti-Obama source. Is there some secret Obama approved news agency that I should be getting news from? Oh wait, they'd never tell the truth and say something bad about him... You better hope that I won't be saying "I told you so" if he's elected and drives this country further into the ground than it already is.
This country needs another JFK, a champion of the people. Obama is not a leader, he is a celebrity.

I disagree with you. I believe Obama is going to be a great leader. I believe he will be a much more active and great leader then McCain ever could be.
No matter what the obama supporters say you will always say that we are voting for him because hes a celebrity or that we get our news from the left, but regardless the majority of the obama supporters (and majority of the country) can figure out the falsehoods that either campaign is spitting and pick the best of the two or at least i would hope.
You call Obama a Celebrity but look at the McCain Campaign, Sarah Palin is the epitomy of a celebrity, shes for the common woman? Yeah right, what common woman spends $150,000 on a wardrobe. GG Now stop calling him a celebrity.
I know the following you will jump all over but who cares these are shows that i trust to give me news.
Real Time with Bill Maher
Countdown with Keith Olbermann
and the Rachel Maddow show.
Nothing on CNN or Fake News (fox news)
I dont get my political opinion and news from Youtube, if you do you really need to rethink your accusations about the media.
The fact that the McCain campaign is using Joe the Plumber (who is unlicensed and was never planning or had the capital to be able to afford the business he was stating he was going to buy, and now has a publicist and manager to jumpstart his country music career) as their mascot is just stupid. Their campaign has done so many sleazy tactics to try and smear baracks name, and this is such a detriment to our government. Calling him a terrorist via robocalls, and basically slandering his name. Thanks for buying into it, Matt, The McCain campaign loves uneducated voters like you.
You also should really check out FactCheck.org before you go on helping spread the Republican Propaganda. Its a website that is not for the left of the right, its for the facts. and debunks both sides campaign materials.
