Got my first ticket

I thought the tint number you order usually accounts for the factory tint. I got 20, and it reads 20 or 21 every single time with their measurer, and it did on my Bravada when I had that one too. I guess maybe it depends on the tint company whether or not they include factory tint in their numbering.

BTW, what was the speeding ticket for and in what MPH zone?

I got pulled over about a year ago basically because I drive a tuner car. It was like 2am and I made sure I wasn't speeding, but just because I drive a louder than average car the cop assumed I was flying! haha it was also dark out so my tint looked even darker. I think mine is like 35ish, but im not sure. I just played super super dumb and acted really concerned about it and how I will make sure to take it off right away lol. I was askin him where to get it off and how to do it and just playing super dumb and he ate it all up. He did end up getting me with a tabs ticket which was easily dropped when i talked to a hearing officer. I wish the hearing officers were cops because they'd be much better lol

Well of course I was, I also did say sorry for ranting in my very first post, so pointing out the fact i'm whining is redundant, but that's fine.

Anyway, I do have a few pics of my car totally stock, so I could probably just do that. I dunno, i'll do my research and do the whole court thing.

Every other time i've been pulled over I was just really polite and played dumb also, but this time the trooper literally asked me no questions, he probably said less then a dozen words to me. "you were speeding," "roll up your window halfway," and "here's your ticket"

I dunno, I just feel like i'm wronged, because I am 99% of the time an extremely safe driver, have NEVER been in an accident, and all I was doing this morning was minding my business like I always do in the morning. I was following the flow of traffic, people directly in front of me and to the right of me going the exact same speed I was.

I'll get over it, sorry again for being a whiny bitch.

And thanks to anyone who is giving me advice, i'll need it.

Argue the ticket in court, have them review the tape from the police car.

Here is what else they will offer you: driving probation. Basically, if you stay ticket-free for the next year this speeding ticket will never go on your record.

So basically you're looking like this:

-Tint ticket will be throw out since you have pics of your car w/ no tint
-Work zone offense dropped
-Speeding ticket goes on probation and dissappears after a year w/o tickets

Was your tint professional tint or cheap autozone type junk?... I bought some professional 38% tint and haven't been bothered by even the worst cops around here and in MN when i've been there. Did the sides myself and had the back done by a professional shop. Quite frankly, anything less than -38% is asking for trouble and is a hazard IMO. I've driven a truck that had 20% and it was hard to see out in city light driving at night. Attached is a picture of my GSX with 38% sides & back. Why you'd need to go darker is beyond me.

Nice job reading the thread fuck tard, it's not just a tint ticket. I wasn't making a big deal out of this either until every one ELSE started making a big deal out of it (or at least it wasn't my intent). The original reason I made this post, was because I had told people like Scheides, Hughes, Mark, Kevin and some of the other people i'm better then just acquainted with that I had never gotten one before, it was mostly just an informative post, not a complaint. Although I was a bit pissed off, so maybe it came off that way.

I already apologized for that, I don't feel that I should need to yet again.

That sucks, and I totally share your mentality. Being it's my first ticket I think a $300-400 fine gave me a little sticker shock, but after finding out I can hopefully get it reduced, i'm a lot less worked up about it.

Also, someone asked what kind of tint I have, it'd professionally installed and I believe they put on 30-35% film, according to Kracka stock is 6% which I was completely unaware of and would have taken that into consideration had I know before hand. I didn't want to go darker then 35.

Anyway, i'm done defending myself and done complaining, not going to make anymore posts in this thread.
