Get a GeForce 8800GTS, only $279 and uber frame rates in everything. I can run all games I own at FULL BLAST. I love it.
With the 8800GTS, I don't think you'll need to upgrade that for a while, I don't see games getting any more complicated with DX10 only being used in like 5 games now, even though it came out with Vista almost months ago now.
