Re: Transmission wont go into reverse

5th gear popping out is a transmission assembly issue. There is a nut that holds the gear stacks together, that backed off.
Not even feeling the reverse slot is usually an assembly issue. The bolt that holds the reverse gear "assembly" in place could be missing or backed off as well.

99% of the time those 2 problems are transmission assembly issues. Clutch adjustment issues effect ALL gears, not just reverse.

Not nessesarily. When my bolts kept coming loose it affected reverse more then any other gear. DRASTICALLY. It would go into first and any other gear, (with little grind) but reverse was horrible.
He also said that the clutch engages right off the floor which is a tell tale sign of loose bolts or clutch adjustment.
